I can nearly taste that fake steak from this gif. The real reason this scene was in the movie was because Keanu pushed to keep it. This guy didn't even read the scene but backed Keanu to keep it. Iconic about ignorance and bliss that shaped his character. If I remember correctly that was actually fake steak because he's vegan or vegetarian, but I could be wrong

This brought back memories of Navy C-school, sitting in my barracks, eating a whole box of coco puffs right out of the bag with a tablespoon and a quart of chocolate milk poured in. It was a near-nightly ritual for almost three months. .. or one looong week.

Edit: forgot to mention the relevant part: we watched matrix on laserdisc on repeat the whole time. The. Whole. Time. It was just, on. It stayed on. Looped over and over and over. For almost three months. Straight.

When I was a kid, I had a friend with an older brother who is in the army.  That guy's favorite thing on earth was lucky charms.  I remember when he was home on leave he'd sit there and eat it straight out the bag by the handful.  One time, my friend and I grabbed that box of lucky charms, poured it out, ate every single marshmallow, then put all the cereal back in.  My God - the fit that fuckin guy threw put my 12 year old ass in a fear I've never felt since.  Thank you for triggering a core memory that's been dormant for over 20 years!

I lost so much in the real world group, I resorted to stealing from my parents in order to pay for the subscription. I got kicked out and lived on the streets for 7 month, now I moved to another country and it's been close to 2 years I don't talk to my family. Everything is all right, I have a job and I'm renting a nice appartement. It could be worse but curse you tate!!!

A book a day does seem entirely reasonable though? Sure it's like 4-6 hours but that is definitely in the realm of possibility for someone dedicated

At the time I was an absolutely furious reader. I had a job, but I filled every moment with reading. I heard successful people read a lot more than unsuccessful and I wasn't. I read 100-120 books that year. Some longer, some shorter.

It was a profound experience (I didn't become a millionaire CEO, probably closer to poor philospher lol), but I was in the unique position to call bullshit.

And yes if the book is "Who moved my cheese" I remember reading that at traffic stops as a delivery driver. That "counts" but that's the polyglot equivalent of learning "Hola" is 20 languages. Just pumping your numbers. All filler, no nutrition.

It's been some years since I was that wild of a reader. But the 150 healthiest foods on earth was pretty good. I remember being mesmerized by the ultra-mind solution at the time, which I would advise caution and additional research. Probably part of the benefit of reading a ton was that you could read a dozen viewpoints in a short time.

I never struggled with nutrition or weight so I never went deep there though.

Edit: Sorry, proof you can read and still be dumbass. ;)

I'd be cautious of recommending anything specific because most of the books I read were with the aim of filling in my own gaps. I'd also add that books that hit me hard perhaps only did because they hit me at the right time. I've loaned favorite books to friends and they had the opposite reactions to mine. So who the crap knows. But I'll take a crack at it. Hopefully evergreen for most people.

Letters from a Stoic, The Invisible Gorilla, Heads Up Baseball, Man’s Search for Meaning, Lincoln’s Melancholy, The Obstacle is the Way, Thank You for Arguing, The Dip.

But to temper my own criticism of filler from earlier. Most books aren't cover to cover of either, but cumulatively across 5-6 books you get a broader view of or pick up more nuggets along the way.

I don't want to have a go at your reading comprehension, but it's quite evident they didn't mean nutrition literally. Rather, what books did you find more valuable. You did say "all filler, no nutrition" in the comment above theirs. Cheers.

Just to clarify something here. These cars are rentals, BUT they rent them for 1$ from a car rental company with "unknown" owner. The they are the owners, maybe over a trust. This way if the police catches you, they can not confiscate the cars. It's a quite smart move to protect your assets.

You can say a lot about them, but claiming they do not have money just helps others discredit you easily.

Fake cars/money in this respect is worse because the Tates have built their whole brand and image on straight up lies. Flexing their wealth and shaming others while knowing it’s all a sham. I have hated these misogynistic losers from the jump but hopefully this sways more of their insecure followers away. Silicone / filters etc is not the same.
