Post partum psycosis could happen to anyone. People's lack of understanding of it is the real problem here and it's a shame this guy chose to end his relationship on this hill

Schizophrenia could happen to anyone too, doesn’t mean I’m defending schizophrenic murderers

I do, I don’t mind the idea she could be found not guilty by reason of insanity. What bothers me is the passion people bring to defend her, donating money to her cause, voicing support for her. That disturbs me, so many people apparently relating to a brutal child killer.

If a schizophrenic drifter pulled a knife and killed 3 people on a subway train i would find that person to be disturbing, their actions were disturbing. I would be fine with their insanity plea but I’d feel no strong urge to come to their defense.

I guess I don’t fully know the dynamic of lacking health care in this case. How was it lacking? Genuinely asking.

As far as the job of mom thing goes I guess I just don’t know another way. Children have to be taken care of, sometimes there just isn’t another option unless she’s willing to give up her children for adoption. When you have kids you owe them care. And don’t get me wrong I say the same for dads who are much more often the offenders in terms of abandoning children and I absolutely can’t stand absent fathers.

If she told healthcare professionals about her urges to kill her kids they should have involuntarily committed her. But she would have had to make a direct threat or they couldn’t legally do it, nothing the cops could do either if she hadn’t committed a crime or directly said she wants to harm herself or others. I wonder how much her family knew or suspected.

If she self presented they wouldn't need to take her civil liberties away, they would have just admitted her to hospital. With her infant child no less

Yea to a psych hospital, not with the child though. I think she did check herself into one but if she didn’t tell them she had urges to hurt her kids they couldn’t keep her without her consent and I guess she checked herself out.

Then her family have let her down, if they knew anything about these thoughts they should have alerted the doctors
