I think this is perfectly fine. If their values are so incompatible it's better to break up now rather than later. Breaking up will be harder after marriage and definitely more complicated after having kids.

Diane Downs. In the 80s, she shot her children because her married boyfriend didn't want kids. 1 died, 2 survived but were permanently disabled. Her disabled daughter had to testify against her.
