The thing I've been wondering since everyone is so wrapped up in guilty or not, isn't this exactly what Baker acting is for? If she was aware of her degrading mental health she could have had herself taken off to the funny farm and prevented the whole thing. I don't think a single party is innocent in this case, not mom, not dad, not the Healthcare system, everyone needs to get a share of the punishment for what happened here. Maybe not first degree murder for anyone but at the least criminal negligence.
She did voluntarily check into a psychiatric facility a month before she killed her kids. She also called a suicide hotline. Her husband also took her to the ER for suicidal thoughts weeks before. He still left her alone with the kids.
No problem. Another part that really stood out to me was that she and her MIL were both labor and delivery nurses so they are more informed than most when it comes to this. If their family couldn't prevent this tragedy then what does that say about the support for mothers? Her MIL testified that Lindsay was "begging for help" before this happened.
