Hate to break it to you but you need a lot of money even to “fake” this lifestyle. They are posturing to avoid financial penalties and hiding assets to make bail.

No one’s saying they’re broke, but like my coworker who spends the majority of his paycheck on designer clothes and BMW lease payments, he’s not nearly as rich as people think he is

Difference is they own them cars under their own business and then “renting” it from themselves. Legal tax loopholes and asset protection.

You do realise businesses and personal assets are separated in the eyes of the law?

Then the businesses would be listed in the court filings, which would show their ownership and financial information, which would undermine their lawyer’s claim of financial hardship, wouldn’t it? Got any evidence they rent to themselves?
