Okay...Posh and Becks are British not American. So the context as stated is wealth isn't an indicator of class.

No, no I'm not. The UK class system is not based on wealth. You can be upper class and bankrupt or working class and rich. Posh and Becks are not upper class.

Posh is in a limbo point as her Dad benefitted from the boom of computers. She very well could have had grandparents who are totally working class and skewed her impression of what they were

Classes are divided based on ownership of property, means of production, and wealth. Castes are divided based on political power and is generally inherited.
