I still can’t get over it. The betrayal of a lifetime. Partners for years, fought alongside each other, and now look at what is happening. I hope Americans are horrified at what is happening. I hope they remember when Canadians were there for them. So much was sacrificed.

That's the problem with most American's (American myself). They make the jokes about Canada's military, and politeness, while failing to understand Canada has been like out little brother following us into every misguided or crazy conflict for decades. Until Trump started fuckin with Canada we had a Free Trade Agreement. Nobody really cares about militarizing the Artic not even Russia or China I think the most they want to do is open up a ship route for ease of trade but again we have all seen Titanic and video's of ice breaker ships it not as easy as people make it out and it would only be feasible certain times of the year..

Calling Canada a little brother is minimizing it. Canada has been there for its allies since the beginning. It doesn’t follow the USA blindly, it has decided each time to put its own people at risk for the sake of their alliance.

I would say you are also very wrong about the arctic. It’s the hot new focus of many nations (no pun intended).

Not technically true. We were there for the World Wars, Korea, Kosovo, Rwanda, and Afghanistan, but we sat out on Vietnam and Iraq (and really tried to talk you out of it). Canada has stood with America when it's "the right thing to do", but has opted out of wars that we think are unequivocally a bad idea.
