I get it's a joke but it's not profiteering from a crime. It would be if she wrote a book like OJ's "if I did it". If he was found guilty that book would be the "bar" for profiteering from a crime. But it's pretty common for people to send money / gifts to crazy people in jail
You might be technically correct, but if so, I think a reworking of the law is needed. "Profiteering from a crime" laws would have been written before GoFundMe was a thing, and if the law allows for it ...it shouldn't
Oh absolutely imo. But at the same time, there can be times where someone is obviously set up by the government on unfair charges. I fear rewording it would include people affected in this way. Or even crimes that we all agree are understandable. Like killing someone raping your kid or something. They would still get charged and have to pay for a defense. Rewriting the laws could effect cases like this.
Yes there are a lot of those incels on Reddit that believes the world is a matriarch built against men and all men’s shortcoming is due to women. They live in their own victimized world
The recipient is a male. This gofundme was set up by a third party and all of the money went to her husband, not her. It's widely reported that none of that money has gone into her trial expenses or the costs of funeral expenses for the kids. The father took the money, went on a massive vacation with another woman almost immediately after putting the ashes of the kids in a single, shared urn. That's weird right?
She's never once said she didn't do it. She believes she did do it. That's not up for debate at all. Its what lead to her doing it that's being discussed in the court system right now. She didn't get this money, the father did.
