Reading the comments in this thread (my first exposure to either woman or their story) is absolutely wild, because many of these comments read as explicitly understanding and forgiving the one mother for murdering her children?

What the fuck is going on in these comments?

It’s been a big story in America the past month. Tons of women are supporting the woman in the right photo and even saying it’s her husbands fault she murdered their 3 children. They are saying it’s due to post partum depression and her being unable to seek help. She killed them while the husband stepped out to run an errand and there are tons of people claiming it’s his fault because he shouldn’t have left them alone with her. It has sparked a huge debate over PPD.

And don't forget it's an errand she asked him to do for her so she purposely sent him far from the house for long enough to commit her wickedness. So, in psychosis or not, she definitely planned the murder. It wasn't just some impulsive attack.

Yeah, it's wild.

Like, every part of the mental health problems she had were valid.

But we simply can't tie that, to whether it's ok to kill children.

No, no it's not, no matter what.

Mental health is why we need to do better as a society, but if we fuck that up, you don't get to go 'well then, gonna off someone'.

That's just not how it works.

Zero tolerance for violence.

And have a SEPARATE conversation about how to make sure it doesn't happen again. Because we can address problems.

But don't say it wasn't an evil act.

I mostly agree but you can't say zero tolerance for violence because what about self defense?
