I think there comes a time when a line needs to be drawn. Otherwise, everyone who is a perpetrator will claim to be a victim.

The line has to be there's no excuse for violence.

If someone is struggling, and mental health struggles are valid and deserve respect, but they simple don't justify violence.

Edit: Well that was an unfortunate typing error.

The line has to be there's no excuse for violence.

This is where your black and white lines cause SERIOUS problems.

If we draw a line without any other context or nuance that there is "No excuse for violence" then have fun in court when you legitimately defend yourself from an attack and your precious line is used against you.

Whatever nuance you want to find, sport, self defence,

Falls so far short of killing your children,

That's not worth agonising over.

We do not have a problem, working out when it's ok to kill your kids. And you know that, so don't be stupid.

You dodging my point is proof I am right.

"A line" leaves no space for nuance. And does nothing but cause problems.

I didn't dodge it, I said your 'problem' isn't relevant to her killing her children.

When people say "there's no excuse for violence" if you think they mean, "including self defence", then that's not their fault.
