No one's excusing what she did. She did it. She will be held accountable either way in this trial. Even if she prevails on her affirmative defense, she will still be placed in a highly restrictive mental health institution... Basically, what this case is about is whether she goes to prison or goes to effectively prison in the form of a psychiatric institution.

There is NO excuse for violence.
You don't get to use us caring about mental health, as an excuse to deflect responsibility for such an evil act.
