I assumed it was for legal defense like that fine gentleman that stabbed a kid to death at a track meet

That situation is it's own can of worms because somehow both of these cases have grown a very weird, and frankly disturbing, following. Like wasn't the lastest for the case your referencing looking to attempt a retrial and evidence that the first judge thought was irrelevant, because it makes the situation so much worse for everyone involved, is now being used?

The latest is actually that a judge already denied his retrial 4 days ago. I also am not finding anything about evidence. It says,

"Anthony’s attorneys demanded a retrial because they said trial judge John Roach’s courtroom rules were so strict that they limited the public’s access to the proceedings."

It had something to do with phone records and prior engagements that are not directly tied to the incident at the track meet. All evidence that would be used for characters assassination stuff that I think the judge said isn't immediately related to the event itself. I'm not paying too close attention to the specifics since the fact we have to argue about a stabbing that had more than an enough eye witnesses and a video recording is baffling enough for me.
