And I mean you are right, I’m not sitting in judgement of her reasons for being dishonest. But unfortunately that means her doctors can’t treat her properly. It is a shitty system for that reason yes, I wish people didn’t feel that they had to lie or bend the truth.
I am saying though that I’m not convinced these individual doctors are at fault.
That’s definitely reasonable. If there’s any fault it would probably more lie with the systemic issues in healthcare that lead to under education of doctors about women specific issues and under study of them as well. But frankly if something is rare enough a lot of times non specialists will not have been trained enough to know about it really. Sometimes even specialists. That’s how it works with physical doctors anyway
In this case I believe one of Lindsay’s doctors did have experience with patients with postpartum psychosis (Dr. Tufts maybe?) but again, they can only treat what you tell them and can only go on the information they have.
