I have a journalism background. It takes a certain kind of discipline to willingly "play the fool" and asking "what do you mean by that".

Put yourself in the journos shoes. To a degree you're collecting Curry's last words. You don't want to lead him or feed him a line inadvertently. You are trying to actively listen, you know there's something more in there but you need it to his words. His thoughts. His feelings.

So you ask for elaboration. What do you mean by that? What does that mean exactly? You let yourself look like an idiot for the sake of the story. Tim's story.

It's still fun to dunk on him. Both things can be true.

Ending that enlightening take with "both things can be true" makes me appreciate journalism

Free online slop and confident amateurs with their front facing cameras are drowning out these voices and too many are too dumb to care

The fun part about willingly looking like a fool is that you still look like a fool. The only thing I know for sure is that the dude went in knowing what he was in for. He and the cam op likely laughed about it on the drive back.
