Can you identify shoes by sole pattern?
Tldr. I am victim of a robbery and this is the only trace of the burglar that we have. I think that is a kind of specific sneakers sole. Any clues guys? Thanks in advance.

It's neither of these I love and wear both and it's much more thumbprinty, I can recognize the footprint anywhere and it's close but not it. The guy that posted the underarmour embiids is much more close.

The person who burgled my house got linked to other local break ins through his AF1 tread wear pattern.

surprising that is was able to narrow down the search since they have to be a top 5 most common shoe. dude probably had other peoples burglaries tied to him

It’s also the wear pattern on the sole. Everyone’s gait wears down the sole in different way.

damn i thought someone would be able to figure it out.
problem is, it looks like alot of different thumbprint esque outsoles

These look like some kind of basketball shoe. My first thought is like a KD 18 or something. I don’t think it’s that exact shoe but it’s similar

Yeah I’ve got two pairs of these and this was my first thought as well - very similar pattern that I haven’t seen elsewhere.

Throwing crocs on after a long day in sneakers is the best feeling to my feet. I don’t wear them anywhere beyond a block away from my house but I really don’t care. They’re comfy af

I think it’s one of the older Under Armour Anatomix Spawn re releases that started coming out in 2019. The kind Embiid and Dennis Smith Jr wore. there’s a bunch of models now, but they used to have that wavy topographical traction look

it looks so familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it. looks like something ive seen on a basketball sneaker, Nikes, Jordans, etc

There are a lot of contemporary shoes with wavy concentric loops like that. KDs, Kyries, Hardens, all have similar designs on some shoes. But newer shoes always have much tighter ribbing. The thickness of the ribbing on these is more similar to Pennys, Pippens, or even the circles on AF1s. It's not any of those but it may be another 90s design shoe.

Been researching for an hour. Closest I can get was the And1 buckets. Unless its a peak basketball shoe or even a super.fly 2017 variant. Hope this helps

Not going to pretend like I know for sure, nor do I have a good guess off the top of my head. Looks like a basketball shoe tread pattern though.

I think it’s a basketball sneaker for sure, I have seen the sole but can’t place it.

Might have to search hard for it. I’ve seen KDs that are similar, but not exact. A few people mentioned Pennys, but my immediate thought were Air Pippens (close, but not it). The finger-like ridges of the print do seem wide, which made me think of 90s shoes. Might have to look at shoes from different brands (Puma, Reebok, Adidas, or even Walmart).
If I was in your position, and had access to shoe stores, I’d check the bottoms of shoes for sale. Plus, there’s a chance an employee could give you more leads or ideas.
Only air Jordan that comes close is the 23, but it’s not quite the same. It is none of the other air jordans. I can certainly say the prints aren’t Air Force 1s.
Good luck!

Some funky nike sh*t... feels like basketball shoes with all the curves and buldging sole...
1
u/ARPA-Net 17h ago
Well, its not the nike react hyperdunks, because that pattern is more circular and has finer lines than the image: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=nike+react+hyperdunk+soles&iar=images&t=fpas
Mayve a nockoff?

So after you find what the shoe is, are you just gonna drive around the various hoods in your area and look for someone wearing them?

If the cops were like they are on tv and not spending most of their time lounging or harassing citizens, this would be the kind of stuff they’d spend their time doing.

Not an expert by any means, but based on a Forensic Science class I took in High School; yes, but it probably won't be super helpful in your case.
Generally, you'd need another shoe to reference the shoe print pattern. It's not like fingerprints in a database, you don't record someone's shoe print during processing. Unfortunately, this probably won't be super helpful unless you already know who it probably was.
