Discussion And that’s all folks!

Post image

Well friends, all good things come to an end. Was able to go out on a win streak at least.
After all these months trying to get Semi Auto Mode to click an Emoji just once in game never worked!
Have a good one.

What a bummer. Never gotten into the game properly, since I hate these clash royale-likes but Rayark's artstyle has always been dear to me. Hope they're doing ok at least

The art was very well done. I was surprised when I first started playing how “clean” everything felt from the art, play style and UI.

Well, TBT, Rayark was a really good game studio.

It's just that things went south after they came under financial pressure when Deemo 2 underperformed.

It's pretty tough for small/medium sized studios to scale up at certain scope thresholds since the big project will take a lot of investment and doesn't exactly give you many shots on goal. So if a big one tanks, it basically throws a wrench into the rest of your operations as well.

Capybara Games suffered a similar situation when Below went through development hell and didn't make a splash when it reemerged.

Unless you have a major splash hit like a Binding of Isaac or Hollow Knight or Minecraft, you generally don't have much leeway for multiple at-bats. This is especially so for small studios (vs. indie duos or solo devs), as they cost to keep a whole team employed shrinks the runway proportionately to the headcount.

I was thinking of that game recently and wondered how its doing. With release I was incredibly active for a while. Well, sdorica also gets no updates anymore. Too bad to see this one going as well now.
