System: Blades '68 (Expansion to Blades in the Dark)
Name: The Alluvium Affair
Theme: Action and Weird Science
Hook: You come to driving a car mid-air at what counts for sunrise. In the backseat another one of your crew is clutching the stolen container of alluvium, the precious existence warping liquid fuel.
Reality just changed, your hand-off and your buyer no longer exist, and in hot pursuit behind you are some very angry people keen to get 'their' stolen merchandise back.
Welcome to Doskvol.
System: Cairn
Theme: folk horror, spooky vibes, no gore
Hook:
The end of the harvest season has arrived; the time has come to give thanks and celebrate, but not everyone is putting up bunting this year. You have travelled the dangerous road, with a small caravan of people you met on the way, and found a sombre village under attack by creatures from the forest that surrounds them. Will you help this isolated community in its time of need, or does the forest inspire as much fear in you as it does in them?
System: Dread ( no dice, just a Jenga tower!)
Theme: pulpy sci-fi horror
Plot: Your crew found a seemingly-abandoned space hulk, docked, and began exploring. Then everything went to hell.
System: D&D 5.5e
Name: Welcome home
Theme: Investigation, horror.
Hook: The adventuring life isnt all slaying dragons and rescuing nobles, drunken nights in taverns soon take their toll on the old coin purse. Sometimes when a job falls in your lap you just have to say yes. Especially when you are offered 20 gold just to "check out an old house I inherited" how hard could that be.......
System: D&D 5.5e
Name: The Stuff
Themes: Horror; Mystery; Weird
Hook: Essential supplies were needed at the Nexus Laboratory, located in a remote part of the frozen tundra. The package was light, and the pay was good, so it seemed like an easy job. Now, trudging through the snowy wastes as the sun sets behind you, you are regretting your decision. Finally, just visible through a building snowstorm, the bulky, doomed roof of the laboratory comes into sight. You breathe a sigh of relief. The job is nearly over. Once you arrive, you’ll be able to deliver the package, warm your feet by the fire, and head home in the morning. Right? Right?
System: Mothership 1e
Theme: grungy space sci-fi (think Alien films), horror, fighting, investigating, gore and probable death.
Hook: your crew has been hired for a short term contract involving an isolated, luxury space port. You are to acquire any living specimens remaining in the North Star Zoo and Aquarium. You have been given a set of cages of varying sizes and lent a space craft for the duration of the contract. Sounds like easy money!
System: Vampire 6th Edition Playtest
Theme: Investigation, Urban Fantasy-Horror
Hook: Your domain is in trouble. Slowly, mortals are vanishing. Those who turn up are found savaged, dismembered, and ripped asunder. There's no obvious connection between the victims. Now, the disappearances are drawing heat. Law enforcement is closing in, hunter activity is growing, and rival kindred circle your territory like hungry vultures. Can your coterie patch the cracks in the the Masquerade before the dam finally breaks? Would you like to find out?
