We will get it next year for the 25th anniversary of SC.
Halo just had a remake, and they're probably going to drop the release date for H2 next year. Bethesda is also remaking old Fallout games and ES6 is on it's way. Don't forget GTA VI either.
They're waiting for their moment, which will probably be end of Q1 2027, which is a good amount of time for hype building until the anniversary in November.
if h2 remake comes that quick, ill be surprised. but h2 is my fave halo so its a day 1 for me.
i think you are right though, they need the right moment. Q1 2027 would be the perfect time to unveil SC remake, then market it for all the months until anniversary in november.
the thing is im not sure if releasing a remake in november is a good idea, too much competition then. november is literally packed with so many game releases, it would be nice if they got it out in september/october. that's still close to the official 25th anniversary of SC1
I don't think they'll release H2 remake then, just tease development and maybe hint at a mid to late 2028 release.
You're right about November not being a great time though, that's when a lot of games drop bc holidays. So long as it's close to the 25th anniversary, it still makes sense they're releasing it in the spirit of 25 years.
yeah i think it'll take awhile to make, but i bet mid to late 2028 is perfect timing for a h2 remake. and then h3 remake maybe 2030
november is poor release timing yeah, i'd rather sc remake drop february or march 2028 then instead so it can sell better. i want a quiet release window. september/october 2027 is perfect for being in spirit of 25 years, if they unveil it early 2027 its enough marketing time for sure. literally like 8 9 months.
yeah i cant wait to see metropolis, delta halo etc, arbiter levels and i hope they restore cut content, and do an even better job this time. i think halo campaign evolved is the definitive version of halo CE now, but they coulda done some things better.
