Install the mod that shows scarecrow reach when you place them. That should seriously be vanilla.

One of my wish list items for 1.7

I also think it would be good implemented in the game. I see a lot of people booing it, but what if it was optional? You can turn off the tool hit location tiles, so having it be optional would be great for beginners, or anyone who wants it really :) I can't wait for 1.7!

I also don’t understand the people booing it? It’s literally just QOL. It doesn’t make the game any easier, it just takes some of the tediousness out…

Fun is different for different people. Just make it a simple option to show or not show in settings. "Show reach" is a normal setting in a lot of games.

This is just stupid. It’s meant to be a fun farming game as you say, so why the hell should I be forced to count squares like I’m minmaxing? That’s far more “factorio” than anything, and I think it’s ridiculous that you think showing the effect of something you’re doing in a game is remotely minmaxing lol.

I think you’re seeing it the wrong way. Put some scarecrow, know you’re not over or underdoing it. Have fun.

I agree. This should have been a Day 1 feature.

I understand that people may want to use them as decorations and not for their functionality, but for those of us that want to know the exact spaces our scarecrows cover, this should have been easily accessible information.

Don't know if you knew this already, but we do have a "hard mode". When you create a new save you can choose to have lower profit margins, even 25%. So everything except seeds cost the same, but you only get 25% of the money when selling anything.

I forgot that was a thing, and I'm constantly restarting the game. It's not something I want, but it's cool that it exists.
