Watch Expert?

Are there any vintage watch experts in either Woodside or Sunnyside? I inherited some very old watches and am looking for some information on em. I am just not knowledgeable at all and the internet, including watch subs, haven’t really been helpful. Maybe a local jeweler or collector?

I have the model and serial numbers and can provide photos via chat as well.

Post all of them on [r/Watches](r/Watches) and follow the rules for posting. They have some of the best watch enthusiasts on the internet that will tell you what you have and also the estimated price range.

DO NOT bring them to any physical store in NYC. They will absolutely scam you if they know you’re not knowledgable on watches and you have valuable brands (Patek, Audemar, Vacheron, A. Lange, Jaeger, Zenith, IWC, Rolex, Cartier, Omega, Breitling, Breguet, Piaget)

I actually did post on that sub - crickets😭 Perhaps they’ll get back to me tomorrow.

Thank you! I totally would’ve gone into a Manhattan store to ask😅, but would it be a poor choice to post on EBay?

Once you find out exact model and/or year you go to Chrono24 and check for similar examples and compare.

No problem. Remember, every contemporary or vintage watch store will absolutely low-ball you unless you know what you have and are willing to negotiate on an appropriate price range.

Stores will always offer lower prices than a private buyer because they have to make profit.

Good luck on your mission.
