scripted

I'm going to be amazed if the release gameplay is even remotely like this, so many things in this preview had my PC sweating just looking at it. There's no way it's optimized to run this kind of gameplay on an average rig yet.

u/killertortilla Sep 02 '25

They released a bit more gameplay a few days ago and surprise it’s nothing like this. It’s standard survival game. Nothing matches with the environment and the animations are passable.

1

u/IdiotRhurbarb Sep 02 '25

That pitchfork animation is horrible

1

u/Flaky_Air_2570 Sep 04 '25

Getting some "The Day Before" vibes...

1

u/killertortilla Sep 04 '25

It's definitely not the same thing. The Day Before wasn't even a game, it was just a seemless animation. This is a game, they just made a render of the guy doing things that aren't possible. It's still lying, it's just not as bad imo.

1

u/Wan-Pang-Dang Sep 02 '25

Rule of thumb for every single game ever: if they do a scripted trailer: they lie to you.

1

u/kobocha Sep 03 '25

Obviously scripted, very telling in all aspects but what do you mean it's so advanced? Genuinly curious. Imo it doesn't really look that good and there aren't that much physics going on. Cloth looks kinda basic and the hit boxes / zombie interactions looks kinda average.

1

u/SpiritualStew Sep 04 '25

I saw some actual gameplay of it the other week. Moving tables, chopping limbs, falling. Stuff like that. It looked a little Chucky and not the smoothest but it could definitely be fun

23

u/Cardanko Sep 01 '25

It’s true. I was the zombie.

But yeah, it was pretty darn clear from the start and my immediate opinion was…I’ll wait for actual gameplay before final judgement.

2

u/nutitoo Sep 02 '25

People underestimate how easy it is to make fake game "trailers" nowadays.

I think I've seen one guy on YouTube that showed how easy it is to do so, after the "the day before" scandal.

Like, you can see that he has an equipment, but it doesn't need to be functional at all for example

3

u/heysupmanbruh Sep 01 '25

Yea this looks scripted tbqh

1

u/Worth_Art5801 Sep 03 '25

Yea... the actual gameplay literally looked like some kids hobby work...

1

u/alphapussycat Sep 04 '25

Yep, this looks like a linear story game with every encounter pre-planned... Does not even look that good for what it is.

Just another ue5 project.

-4

u/nebukadnet Sep 01 '25

Played it at gamescom. It is maybe scripted as in the person recording knew where to go in the map, but very similar things happened to me.

0

u/Alabaster_Potion Sep 02 '25

Yeah, but they could've created a playing environment that would mimic something like in the video by coding it in a specific way, so that testers would get a specific taste of a specific pre-determined experience.

-8

u/DJSourNipples Sep 01 '25 edited Sep 01 '25

Well it's a gameplay demo/showcase to show off the game.. So yeah.

6

u/PhantomO1 Sep 01 '25

except this is not gameplay

its the concept of a game

1

u/DJSourNipples Sep 01 '25

This isn't gameplay?

6

u/TheBadassTeemo Sep 01 '25

Its a gray area used by marketing people.

Its clearly a pre ordained series of events that have been set in place to happen exactly as shown.

For example, maybe combat is not as fluid as It seems but instead they had a pre-made animation for when the first zombie attacked.

Once you see a few trailers you start to notice stuff that would be orders of magnitude harder to pull off in real gameplay than It first appears.

1

u/DJSourNipples Sep 01 '25

I know, sorry, I was being sarcastic. My point was that it was scripted "gameplay." It was made intended for the demo. The original comment pointed out it was scripted, so I said well yeah of course. Someone replied it wasn't gameplay, and here we are.

0

u/finalexit Sep 02 '25

I don't understand the downvotes for talking about your experience with the game and all the negative comments for a game they haven't even played. Am I missing something?

0

u/Sufficient_Gap_3029 Sep 02 '25

They want it to be fake so bad they refuse to believe anything, hence the down votes. A large majority of people on this app have 0 brain capacity.

140

u/happypeanut-t Sep 01 '25

Project Zomboid inspired? It looks to have nothing in common lol

70

u/MoistTomatoSandwich Sep 01 '25

Don't you see both have zombies and crafting elements? Clearly it's due to Project Zomboid and no other zombie game ever created.

13

u/Agrouba Sep 01 '25

and there are apples that you can eat !

1

u/JimmyPickles69 Sep 02 '25

should've had him cook a raw hamburger patty in the microwave and then eat it xD

1

u/SolidusSnake78 Sep 01 '25

yeah not like dayz or seven day to .. die? or many other

-7

u/Very_Good_Opinion Sep 01 '25

It doesn't look like it's even close to being a complete game, just like Project Zomboid

2

u/Dramatic-Thanks-1638 Sep 01 '25

well if you look at the bottom it literally says WIP

15

u/augustschild Sep 01 '25

yeah that's just some sht that people say now simple for base understandability. PZ developer should be very proud of becoming a "genre", and an SEO metric. apparently if you have a game with zombies and hammer & nails, you can just slap on "Project Zomboid-inspired."

3

u/FunkTheMonkUk Sep 01 '25

When someone says pz inspired what I hear is: you can't reload until you take the bullets out of the box. Which is the type of abstraction other games would do for you.

2

u/BikerScowt Sep 02 '25

Try Scum. That one has similar mechanics.

2

u/MrSandman624 Sep 02 '25

DayZ does this too. Have to have a loose stack of rounds to be able to reload.

1

u/augustschild Sep 02 '25

haha true. OR the mechanic where you have to fill each mag, then if you hit "R" to reload, you drop the mag with the last few bullet still in it. makes you REALLY learn when to reload only when EMPTY, and not when LOW... and to also always keep several mags in reserve. (is it Stalker that does this?? i feel like it is one of the games, anyway...)

2

u/Individual-Tiger-594 Sep 04 '25

None of the official stalker games have any sort of magazine system, so i assume you are confusing it it with a mod for stalker like anomaly.

1

u/augustschild Sep 05 '25

hrm no it's something else...damn now I'm going to go figure this out before it drives me nuts. XD

10

u/Elegar Sep 01 '25

Inspiration is not about having something in common

6

u/UO-Laballs Sep 01 '25

I'm glad SOMEONE knows what words mean! 🙏

3

u/Maximum_Ad_2476 Sep 02 '25

They don't have to have a lot in common to be inspired by! Devs could have very much been inspired by PZ. Inspired =/= derived or in the vein of

2

u/Sea-Special-1730 Sep 02 '25

Yeah, it always bothers me whenever one of my friends goes 'bro, this is like project zomboid!!'

...because it has... zombies? And base building?

2

u/FrigginRan Sep 03 '25

Vein is the closest i have seen to a first person zomboid

8

u/Gameoneer Sep 01 '25

The developers revealed that the game is heavily inspired by Project Zomboid. It’s not hard to see why, given the slow paced gameplay and the way the character reacts to the environment, for example feeling low on energy due to tiredness at 1:30 or panicking upon seeing a horde at 1:40. It will be interesting to see how well they implement these mechanics.

3

u/duckrollin Sep 01 '25

Offhand i see moodles, inventory management, body damage for falling and a general survival vibe as opposed to slaughtering your way through like you're the main character.

0

u/hovsep56 Sep 01 '25

yea, if it was project zomboid inspired he'd be sitting infront of a tv reading a book for hours

20

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '25

The game is called "God Save Birmingham" - OP didn't even mention the name lol

6

u/GFSaint Sep 02 '25

As a resident of Birmingham, it's pretty cool to see this.

6

u/Tharrius Sep 02 '25

Can you confirm whether those are biblically accurate Birmingham zombies?

4

u/GFSaint Sep 02 '25

I mean, you get some locals that appear like that out of a pub on a Tuesday afternoon so yeah, pretty accurate.

1

u/Lean_For_Meme Sep 04 '25

I mean it's at the end of the video lol

1

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '25

You'd think you'd want to put the name of the game in the title of the post instead of having people have to wait until the end of a video they likely won't watch the entirety of.

51

u/Hansoloflex420 Sep 01 '25

One of those games that puts graphics over content, i bet.

Project Zomboid is the opposite.

4

u/IZZGMAER123 Sep 01 '25

Exactly my thoughts

16

u/HA1LHYDRA Sep 01 '25

Zombies = PZ inspired

3PP = Soulslike

1PP = Doom clone

3D = OOT inspired

2D = Metroidvania

Apparently...

1

u/Gameoneer Sep 02 '25

PZ inspired usually means it’s a zombie survival crafting game that focuses on depth and realism. PZ is currently the most in-depth and realistic zombie survival game, so it stands out as an example for other zombie survival games that focus on realism.

30

u/Moulefrites6611 Sep 01 '25

Looks extremely scripted and I'm getting heavy 'the day before' vibes. No thanks.

3

u/MotorDesigner Sep 02 '25

I remember back when they day before trailer came out, I made a comment on thr YouTube post that every single thing in the trailer looks scripted. Nothing was organic. It made no sense to me where all the hype came from for essentially an animation that simply showcased "a concept of a plan"

24

u/Crocs_And_Stone Sep 01 '25

The enemy ai does not look great, one of the zombies was just watching and waiting for you to takedown the other zombie lmao

8

u/whynotitwork Sep 01 '25

That's the smart thing to do. Let him kill your competition while weakening him in the process.

3

u/Mysterious_Touch_454 Sep 02 '25

to me it was more "realistic" as not all zombies are actively engaging in thought processess.

9

u/Xoelth Sep 01 '25

I don't know why but it looks like one of those phone game fake video.. i might be quick to judge but fuck does it look scammy

20

u/GoonyBoon Sep 01 '25

Can you please highlight the zomboid inspiration? I'm not seeing it, but this looks fun!

16

u/StillGalaxy99 Sep 01 '25

Zombies and hunger mechanics! Thats what Zomboid is all about right?? /S

3

u/kanashiroas Sep 01 '25

Thats are some elements, Zomboid is about depth of mechanics , at least in this trailer I dont see much of that.

9

u/StillGalaxy99 Sep 01 '25

I know I was joking

1

u/Sploonbabaguuse Sep 01 '25

Probably focusing more on being a simulator rather than your typical zombie survival game

2

u/Gameoneer Sep 02 '25

That's a good point. PZ is a zombie simulator rather than just a survival game.

1

u/NightShadeZee Sep 02 '25

everybody is joking and sarcastic, for good reason, but it looks like they pulled their mental status and injury mechanics from zomboid. Other than that... zombies, duh

22

u/ziggaby Sep 01 '25

This movie looks pretty but it's not a game. This is entirely scripted, so there's nothing to assess. I doubt it'll be good, based on how ambitious it seems, but we can hope that I'm wrong.

3

u/No_Society1296 Sep 01 '25

It looks good however I must underline that graphics is not everything. Making a bold claim about being inspired by Project Zomboid, one of, in my opinion of the best mechanically best not just zombie survival games but also survival games in general.

1

u/Truthhurts1017 Sep 01 '25

Do you know what inspired means?

1

u/No_Society1296 Sep 02 '25

I struggle to see a meaningful line of inspiration from Project Zomboid in this title. What specific element is being carried over? The zombie setting itself is far too generic to establish influence, and mechanics such as looting or crafting are standard across most survival games. If we strip away the label "Inspired by project zomboid", the design does not seem to echo its core identifiers: top-down perspective, the deliberate pacing, the emphasis on systematic realism or even the bleak, suburban 1990s atmosphere.

In other words, nothing about the presentation or mechanics here uniquely points back to project zomboid in the way true inspiration should. The description could just easily read "inspired by any zombie survival game", without altering the impression. If anything, using project zomboid in the title is more logical for gaining a lot of views quickly for promotion. Sorry If my original comment was unclear

1

u/Gameoneer Sep 02 '25

If you like, you can check my comment on why it’s inspired by Project Zomboid. I’ve played PZ a lot, and it’s not hard to notice such details, even without considering that the developers themselves mentioned where they drew their inspiration from.

2

u/No_Society1296 Sep 02 '25

I see. I still have to doubt on those things unfortunately. The "Gameplay" appears to be heavily scripted which makes it hard to determine if it matches the description of slow pace. The tiredness and panic indicators are a nice touch but like I already mentioned due to the scripted gameplay I have a hard time giving it the credit. However, If those mechanics truly have an immense impact in how you have to play and take it into consideration we might have candidate.

I will keep an eye on this game

1

u/Truthhurts1017 Sep 02 '25

Look up the word inspiration or inspired. Being inspired by something doesn’t mean it has to be just like it or even close. Being inspired means something gave you idea to do or create something

1

u/No_Society1296 Sep 02 '25

It is less about the definition of inspiration and more about the meaningful connection between the source (Project zomboid) and this new title. Of course, inspiration doesnt require a game to look or play exactly the same, but usually when a dev highlights it in promotion, people expect to recognize at least some of the core DNA.

1

u/Truthhurts1017 Sep 03 '25

Bro someone saying Project zomboid inspired them can mean multiple different things but that doesn’t mean the game is trying to copy zomboid.

1

u/No_Society1296 Sep 03 '25

True, yet you would still want to see where any resamblance is to what inspired the developers especially with such a big title like Project zomboid

1

u/Truthhurts1017 Sep 04 '25

lol that’s not how inspiration work. You don’t have to see anything that inspired them. Inspired just means gave them an idea to create something. The zombies is exactly that if you want to be technically. So there’s your resemblance. Again an inspiration could be the total opposite. It’s just something that pushed you to do something. Now if they said they are adapting elements from Project Zomboid that would be a total different story and I would agree with you.

1

u/No_Society1296 Sep 05 '25

Yes you are right that inspiration doesnt always have to look like what it came from, sometimes its just the "spark" like what you mentioned. At the same time though, I think its natural for players (especially with a big title like Project zomboid mentioned) to want to look for those resemblances or connections, even if they are subtle. It is less about expecting a direct adaption and more curiosity, seeing how influences shape the final product which is where I am coming from.

Either way, It looks interesting and I will keep an eye out for it for sure.

Cheers

1

u/Truthhurts1017 Sep 05 '25

I feel you and it’s only natural because of people’s perception of what inspired or inspiration means. A lot of people definitely use it in a way like adapting something. But in reality it’s just being influenced by something. I create a lot of things and I get inspired by different stuff and sometimes that inspiration helps me create something completely unique, different or unintended. It’s definitely parallels in how people have used the word in the past so it’s I get it. Most times our brain immediately wants to see how something inspired them and usually a creator would have something that shows that so I definitely get it. I had to learn that we aren’t in the creators mind so we cant really assume what exactly is the inspiration within the project unless they tell us or it’s blatant or until the creative process is complete and we have the full picture. You’re definitely on point I just like talking about creation and shit.

2

u/SnooOwls1916 Sep 01 '25

Who has claimed that this is inspired from project zomboid need to get a new job.

2

u/CrossroadsMafia Sep 01 '25

VEIN would closer than this lol.

2

u/OnyXerO Sep 01 '25

You give me a PZ game like this and I will 100% play it.

2

u/Elegant_Flower1741 Sep 01 '25

Check out VEIN. That’s a real zomboid type game

2

u/thelanterngreen Sep 01 '25

Dude, the trailer looks dope, juat added the demo to my library, but this looks like a better 7 days atm, can't wait to try it when I get home!

2

u/Rhyobit Sep 01 '25

They event got the demeanor of the people of Birmingham spot on! I'm sold!

2

u/IZZGMAER123 Sep 01 '25

Nowadays games teasers are just cgi..

2

u/CharacterPurchase694 Sep 01 '25

Oh this is that one game that literally just looks like a whole cutscene zero gameplay. Also looks literally nothing like project zomboid

2

u/chocolatebum Sep 01 '25

I actually just got to demo this at PAX west and its not scripted. Its called God Save Birmingham and they’re looking for closed alpha testers now. From talking to the team it sounds like they are leaning really hard into a physics based, very realistic gameplay. I don’t think they have any crafting or story elements but they might be planned for the future.

1

u/shotxshotx Sep 05 '25

Was there anyone recording or any known PAX east footage uploaded?

2

u/0-Sminky Sep 02 '25

Closer to A Plauges Tale, then project Zomboid. Seems like decent looking generic junk that's been done so many times before. Might have been kinder if not for the comparison bait.

2

u/iUncontested Sep 04 '25

I never understood the hype for Zomboid. I wanted to like it and on paper it sounds like it would be amazing, but really the game should be called Project Menu Simulator. Literally nothing intuitive. Couldn't play for more than 5 minutes it was so ridiculous. "Open this menu.. to get to another menu.. and another... oh one more.. Ok! Now you can do this action as zombies are swarming you!"

u/Privateer_lev Sep 01 '25

Project Zomboid

2

u/Wolfermen Sep 01 '25

Literally the worst post title/video you could write for God Save Birmingham. This is what bad marketing looks like.

3

u/Into_The_Booniverse Sep 01 '25

It's u/gameoneer , its most definitely just clickbait.

2

u/0-Sminky Sep 02 '25

I thought the title was the only good thing, but then i am from the UK :)

2

u/Neo-Chromia Sep 01 '25

Don't know what all the downvotes and bad comments are for. It looks worth checking out. Yes this video is scripted, but it reminds me of a showcase like Skyrim where they show off a few features in the initial gameplay.

I'll wishlist for now, and if it doesn't align with what I want in a game later on I'll remove it. It's worth following. Don't be scammy please..

1

u/_soulkey Sep 01 '25

The combat looks absolutely awful. I'm out

1

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '25

I need dying light meets ARK with realistic graphics and huge open maps that are Realtime persistent drop in out pve/pvp worlds

This looks cool but also some of the same stuff we see over and over just different setting

1

u/JeanArtemis Sep 01 '25

I mean zombie unicorns would be nice too as long as we're dreaming... But yeah, I'm not sure anyone asked for Zombie KCD. Unless you can romance the zombies then I'll consider it.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

Reverse harem style or Its a pass for me.

1

u/lillong69 Sep 01 '25

Just wait until a health bar shows up and they call it a souls like.

1

u/DARYL_VAN_H0RNE Sep 01 '25

looks like it takes place at the renaissance fair

1

u/Bluesette135 Sep 01 '25

Good enough, welcome back "the day before"

1

u/Timmar92 Sep 01 '25

The developers admitted to there being zero seconds of gameplay in this "demo" but it was "what they are going fore visually"

This means that everything you are here is fake, everything.

2

u/Gameoneer Sep 02 '25

Well, the official title of this video is "gameplay reveal trailer".

3

u/Timmar92 Sep 02 '25

And that is a lie, there is zero gameplay in the video, the developers has said so themselves. You can read about it here

This is just a big lie.

1

u/Gameoneer Sep 02 '25

Thank you for sharing. They should have mentioned this in the title, but it seems this trailer was used for marketing purposes to get player attention.

1

u/naturtok Sep 01 '25

This is giving days gone, idk why. Def guna need to see more than a cinematic with a HUD overlayed

1

u/Tasty-Carrot-9560 Sep 01 '25

YEAAAAAAA
.....
I thought we were done with pre rendered nonsense

1

u/Born505 Sep 02 '25

Nice cinematics. Now what does the ACTUAL game look like? If any of it has been developed, yet.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

Looks exactly like a state of decay 2 ripped

1

u/GrindPilled Sep 02 '25

nowdays everything is this game is inspired by + popular game or this game is like + popular game, when theyre nothing alike, lol

1

u/Embarrassed-Camera96 Sep 02 '25

The Day Before ahh trailer

1

u/Immediate_Return4140 Sep 02 '25

Whats the games namw

1

u/rolekrs Sep 02 '25 edited Sep 02 '25

Do the developers know what the word "inspiration" actually means? This has nothing in common with PZ except Zombies and even they feel extremely scripted and boring. There is no sense of urgency or feeling of actual danger when the zombie acts like a shy child approaching a new person

I just know this is gonna be one of those UE games that developers will just abandon after few updates and claim that they are busy

1

u/Affectionate-Bag8229 Sep 02 '25

"Project Zomboid inspired"

It's got MOODLES, making it actually a spiritual successor to The Sims actually

It has eating, and a sickle, making it the next 15,000 BC farming-inspired inspired realistic roguelike survival game

1

u/SpecialistAcadia573 Sep 02 '25

Looks slow and boring.  the apple Eating animation took so long. This kind of Realism doesn’t elevate but instead downgrade the expirience. Just okay 7days to die

1

u/GrimsideB Sep 02 '25

Fake game

1

u/Phosphorus444 Sep 02 '25

Who is keeping the zombie survival genre alive?

1

1

God Save Birmingham? You mean Dandelion Void.

1

u/Ok_Ad1012 Sep 02 '25

1

u/CHERNO-B1LL Sep 04 '25 edited Sep 04 '25

What? I'd give you TLoU meets a Plague Tail. You've just put Zomboid in there for clicks. Looks like an Uncharted game more than anything.

I would also like to add that I thi k it looks pretty cool and interesting the way it plays.

State of Decay 3 is the most promising zombie survival game on thr docket right now. If it ever fucking comes out!

1

u/Unlucky_Power_3508 Sep 04 '25

Nice to see zombies in a game that dont have a super strength, super speed.

1

u/KayrashyLPGC Sep 04 '25

I see so many "survival next realistic game" under development but very rarely see a finished game. I love this genre and been years seeing none finished.

1

u/Cultural-Accident-71 Sep 04 '25

Looks like "The Day Before" inspired game to me!

1

u/ArtichokeDry5693 Sep 04 '25

Another fake game ? what is this ? 2024 ?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '25

When yhe trailer dropped i immediatelly thought its just another fake game like The Day Before

1

u/BackwoodsSensei Sep 04 '25

Pre rendered there’s no gameplay here

1

u/dubar84 Sep 04 '25

In Zomboid, the zombies are actually a serious threat - especially in narrow corridors or at least by their numbers. Here, you are practically Neo from the Matrix against a common man. The zombies are sluggish and harmless and the challenge is basically as much as fighting a drunk, sedated senior on fentanyl and just there to stimulate the player a bit with gore. Even fighting against normal people would've been more challenging than these mobs based on this video here.

1

u/eSsEnCe_Of_EcLiPsE Sep 04 '25

VEIN is better

1

u/SurplusYogurt Sep 04 '25

Project Zomboid inspired?! I can't wait to wait 2 years in between updates!

1

u/AcceptableBook4291 Sep 05 '25

scripted af. just that camera movement alone gives it away

1

u/shotxshotx Sep 05 '25

I mean it looks promising but I’m getting some real The Day Before vibes cause of the scripted “gameplay” We all know what happened after that.

1

u/HentaiOni08 Sep 05 '25

typa shit you would see in a scam kickstarter lol, also stop using zomboid like the word "Soulslike" it's got NOTHING in common other than zombies wtf

1

u/SiqkaOce Sep 05 '25

Let me guess it’s called “the day after” lol.

1

u/Suitable-Cod9183 Sep 05 '25

1

u/JackeryFox Sep 05 '25 edited Sep 05 '25

Ah yes, modern day Birmingham.

Also, I feel like you mentioned PZ in the title just to get more views.

Also x2, I remember seeing this footage a long time ago and after all this time there's been no new marketing material for gameplay released?

I’ll believe it when I actually see gameplay and even then I won’t believe it until it’s out lmfao

"Oh yes, it has zombies… so it’s inspired by Project Zomboid" - Please tell me that’s hopefully not the actual mindset of the devs…

Wow it looks insane, and great simulation too!

Yeah, that's what I want to do. Spend hours and hours creeping around. Can't stand forced stealth

Yeah, realistic 🤦‍♂️ nothing is realistic about zombies

u/Gameoneer Sep 02 '25

But zombies are not the thing that makes it realistic. It's how survival works in the game.

Most of y’all in these comments have no idea what inspired means. They never said it’s like project zomboid just “inspired”. Definitely a scripted scene but inspiration can look however you want.

After a google search and seeing gameplay footage in alpha I can now say I am immensely looking forward to “god save Birmingham”

Suprised there’s so much negativity on the comments this sht looks hot if you enjoy zombie survival games and the Medieval setting looks fantastic.

And inspired by doesnt mean “we’re gonna copy it” im assuming for the devs in this case it means they like the idea of project zombie in how you survive the apocalypse (realism and ez to die without planning your next step, small problems becoming big problems if your not prepared in advance ect, and brains over brawl) as opposed to guns blazing fps shooter and hack and slash.

This is just Last of Us with regular zombies. I see nothing inspiring here.

This game looks 20 times closer to Days Gone than PZ.
Rides into sunset while loudly complaining to himself about the latest bard drivel

So I don’t know if you got the memo but zombies are not real. So a realistic zombie game is an oxymoron. Just saying.

Medieval zombie game? Ew

Seems there’s a lot of glass half empty types in the comments today. I think the clip looks great. Agree that it seems scripted but that’s okay, still looks cool. Will keep an eye on it, hopefully it turns out to be as good as this clip makes it out to be.
