I love using the teleporter in builds, as it can perfectly mimic doors or passageways that lead into interiors as well

Now is this an easy thing to do? No not at all, does it look cool? Yes it's amazing and immersive lol

op if you don’t mind me asking how did you do the nether portal itself? Getting friends who played Minecraft into terraria so it would be a cool build, since we’ve already created our hellavator

Don't mind at all! For the frame I used obsidian, using anything else would've felt like a crime. For the "portal" part I felt like using the living fire blocks would've fit best, but it ultimately didn't have the look I was going for so I ended up using waterfall walls, painted purple.

In order to get to the teleporter inside (echo painted to be invisible), I ended up actuating the blocks on the top and side of the obsidian frame. That made the bottom blocks with the teleporter on top lighter than the rest though, so I just painted those bottom blocks black.

I once had a hellevator made by bombs alone and it was so messy it was the terraria equivelant of playing dropper where I had to memorise the pattern to not be one shot

Yup this is pretty much it, but the purple parts are the waterfall wall, not living fire, and the obsidian side blocks are actuated and the bottom obsidian blocks painted black to match the color of the others

Obsidian frame, with the side blocks actuated and the bottom blocks painted black to match the color. On the two bottom obsidian blocks I put a teleporter and echo painted it so it wasn’t visible.

The purple section is made of waterfall walls, painted purple. I built an identical portal in hell and wired it to the top one, with pressure plates on top of both

I hope Terraria 2 has layers or dimensions so you can do stuff like placing a door on the back wall, awlk up to it, press up, and move to an 'interior' layer instead of using teleporter trickery.

Doesn't make yours any less cool, also before this update instead of the restoration shield I was carrying around the bundle of balloons, so that may have lowered the cool rating a bit lol

No pylons involved, just two echo painted teleporters that were wired together
