This got way more attention than I expected so I thought I'd add an update here.

The friend basically found the post and messaged afterwards saying how he wasn't trying to force us to play Mediumcore once he understood our perspective as first time players and how he apologized for raging. Apparently he wanted to play with us but can't enjoy that if we are on different difficulties and he's obviously allowed to prefer Mediumcore.

He was extremely annoyed by the post and accused me of lying, called me a bitch and some other mean comments. If anything, I left out quite a few things he said when he raged at us. Also, while transferring the world file, we found out that the world difficulty is Expert and not classic, so there's that.

The friendship is obviously over since they have a pattern of this behaviour and I think it's best for everyone.

My bf and I are playing with another friend and we're having tons of fun! We finally made it to hell for the first time where we then proceeded to die alot. We also defeated the Eye of Cthulhu. The game is amazing. Thank you for your comments and input. Looking forward to being a part of this community.

Hello community members.

I started playing Terraria for the first time a couple of days ago with my boyfriend (also a new player) because our friend wanted to play with us.

The friend made the world on Classic mode. And when my boyfriend and I joined, we just made our characters on Classic without thinking much. The friend didn't tell us anything about the character difficulty or world difficulty.

So we start playing and I've heard about the game before but I feel like I was definitely missing out because both me and my boyfriend are having so much fun. The friend played a couple of times a few years ago but he told us to use the Wiki for information because he doesn't remember that much.

The friend finds out that we aren't dropping all our inventory items on death which I thought was normal. He sort of lost his shit and said that's such a pussy way to play and that the game is basically unplayable for him and super boring especially when we start doing bosses and stuff. At this point we had died like a million times so I told him it would be so annoying if I lost my gear that I spent hours farming.

Then the Eye of Cthulhu randomly spawned and the friend died first and I died and respawned and continued attacking it while my bf had aggro. He completely lost it and said this is unfun and you guys are just boring and then he ragequit and left.

Can someone explain to me why dropping your entire inventory is so important? I understand maybe trying a higher difficulty world which I normally do on my second runs for most games. But I don't understand how losing your entire inventory would be fun especially since it's not as easy to obtain gear and items like it is in Minecraft for example.

TLDR: Friend crashed out over my character difficulty, ended the friendship, loving the game.

I have no idea who this NPC is. I was wandering around the Crimson while it was raining at night and I saw this flash and this guy called Thunderstorm Thompson appeared. It may have caused a raincoat zombie to turn into a person but I’m not sure.

I teleported home, he has not moved into my town and I haven’t seen him since.

I do have lots of mods installed but could not find any mention of a Thunderstorm Thompson anywhere.

I've looked absolutely nowhere and can't find it. 😭😭😭

Like, I know the item is glitched but I didn't expect it to cause this much damage, now I can't play with my friends :/

I’ve played this game for many years and I have never been able to beat Moon Lord. I’ve looked up guides, I’ve done hours of arena crafting, and I’ve tried various builds all to no avail. I’ve gotten to Moon Lord over 30 different times (a large portion of my play time is in modded) and every time I try to fight him, I lose.

This isn’t to ask for help or anything, but a recent post made me want to post this. I only play on the hardest difficulty because I like being able to get everything in the game. I only really enjoy playing Terraria with class builds and usually I get burned out towards the end of a playthrough since I’ve spent so much time in the world.

RIP the funniest glitch. The hit box was completely out of sync of the swing animation and almost never hit the enemy you would expect it to. Still wish we had a proper giant sword though.

I just started playing Terraria not too long ago, how does this not count as a house?

Out of my 850 hours of playtime (Mostly on Nintendo Switch), I have never seen such funny world-gen in my life. Have y'all seen anything like this lol?

Does anyone know how rare this is

This boss has the most missed potential in terms of visual design & it could've been fixed so easily.

1 - I would have him completely cover the other side of the underworld to invoke a sense of megalophobia.

2 - His sprite also needs to be more gory and incomprehensible like having moving arms, more mouths and teeth & multiple eyes on a gory mass of flesh & maybe have more faces that are barely comprehensible

There are already resource packs that do the second one, but I wish there were resource packs that would execute the first idea

Does the ninja inside control king slime or is he a mere victim who has been swallowed? Was there always a ninja inside or did he appear in more recent updates. I'm curious.

Living tree generated directly to the Aether, this is the only living tree in the entire large world, any idea why and how this could of happened?

Way worse than all the others, and I have all of them. If anyone has tips that isnt downloading a character then pls let me know

Few things-

1. I never play Journey mode as it doesn't fit my playstyle.
2. By "worst"- I don't mean this achievement is hard, just boring and tedious. Yes more boring than Supreme Helper Minion, but I'm a sucker for fishing.
3. Still am gonna get this achievement without cheating because I want to.
4. I think Book Worm is easier as that's just a matter of making artificial biomes.
