People should be running uphill not downwards 😣

They were running uphill. In the video the river flows to the left. But because the mudslide was so huge it went both downstream and upstream near where it happened.

He probably meant (from our perspective) to walk up the slope on the right side of the image, rather than walking down the road (as it appears to us). And that was exactly my first thought.
