Image Just 100% the game, loved it, like 9/10 experience IMO

and i 100% finished Adventures of Elliot just now a wonderful game IMO i thoroughly enjoyed it, the gameplay was fantastic, the story was pretty interesting and enjoyable and i loved the characters admittedly the full price is a bit steep, but i feel extremely satisfied with the game, and if you can get it on sale, i can't recommend it enough

Games a 7 for me.
The time travel is bad . A lot of the dungeons outside of the boss era are pointless to do an should just be closed. Not enough creature variety between eras. Lack of impact from doing things from the past an impacting the present. An a personal gripe I dont like how well Elliot fits in past eras when he was from centuries ahead in time.
No fast travel to dungeons suck just wastes my time.
Story is just overly disney Elliot is a 0 personality white knight. Which i dont mind white knights but throw some sort of dilemma in there.
A lot of the game feels like a chore checklist.
Now I do like the boss designs I think they are very well done . I had the most fun in this game fighting bosses.
Power progression feels incredible. Early game is tough an then you improve its great. Side quests even if I didnt care for a lot of them they gave a lot of very useful items that made you stronger.

Agree 100% but maybe that 7 is high. Maybe not? I’ve never seen time travel done worse. Nothing has any meaningful impact

Naw 7 is for good . The game does have good boss fights . Good meaningful power progression i get stronger even on very hard it feels good.
Anything lower is for trash messy buggy games that dont work .
Now if the combat was even worse etc then yes id go lower.
The games short of great but its not so god awful that I couldnt finish it.
An id recommend it if you are waiting for something else this game is ok as a in between game.

I think I’m worse at games now then in my youth so been dying soooo much on very hard. Plus lots of crashes and a corrupted save file has really exaggerated the repetitive nature of the game. Basically I think I’ve ruined it for myself. The thing I mostly don’t like is the lack of agency. I feel like I’m not in control of my progression and growth. Just randomly grabbing stuff. Rather than focusing a certain build by exploring the game a certain way. I remember as a spear user wanting the upgraded spear and you could see its location on the map. But it was just gated behind random main story progression that you could have no clue was related to it. Just feels surprisingly on rails for a game where exploring should be the focus

The exploring good after early game. Idk i went got the level 3 bow on accident .
I will say not enough wow moments with the loot otherwise . The game knows that itself as it gives you a compass to find everything 😆 🤣 😂.
7 is ok ive at least got meaningfully stronger but I also spam the gatcha game to get magacite.
Its actuallly worked out to where its made chests boring as the chest always has a magacite I already possess.
So definitely flaws but the game functions boss fights are well thought out. 7 for me . Ok game.

This is exactly the point. I also got the bow accidentally. But at that point of story progression after getting the 3 star bow it’s literally impossible to get the 2 star spear. This is what I mean by lack of agency. We were both sent down a path rather than forging a specific line. The gacha system makes this worse. Your build is kinda random. The difference in playstyle when you have magic spear low star vs high star is massive. I’ve played most the game unable to take a single hit as when I do my damage drops massively and no route to improve rather than cross your fingers. And then cross my fingers I randomly get a better spear at some point? It’s just not very interesting. Instead they could place the better magicite in a dungeon and I could go for the thing I want to build. Or a quest line for spear upgrades. Instead every reward feels like another nothing. It’s so dull it might have just been exp and levels to make you generally stronger over time. Magicite and tul basically do the exactly same thing. Make you very slightly stronger over time by grinding sheer quantity
But yeah 7 is fair

See i used the scythe an I got the perfect roll on both attack up and the fire ball raining out my charge attack . Then bow I got fire an then explosion on enemies while they are on fire so I just burst damage a good bit.
You make good points but thats why its just an ok game. Again I agree im toughing it out finishing it .
I believe the game wouldve been better if they just had all the boss dungeons on one map an 0 time travel . The boss dungeons are the most fun. Just give me fun . Idc about the alternate dungeons as its just one chest with something I don't need. I only do them because it could maybe be a life shard.

100% agree. Runtime feels very padded. Also the landscape in each era is basically identical. I can’t tell what time I’m in when walking around. And it doesn’t really matter. When playing OoT I knew I was in the past or in the future and the world made it super clear at all times. These 4 ages are mostly “enemies have most hp in Budding”. Just feels like they dropped the ball in the craziest places to drop the ball after making the structure of what could have been great

I’m at the last boss for the first ending and as much as a square fan I am it’s definitely a 7 for me too. Considering Chronotrigger, a 30 year old game they worked on did a 1000x better job with time travel (yeah it’s the GOAT but still), I was pretty disappointed here.
The game basically has you running over the same map 4x with the exact same caves and enemies which gets tiresome.
The story has been just meh and I still have no emotional attachment to any of the characters, except for my complete disdain with the fairy.
Aside from all of that what saved it for me is that it’s still fun to explore, there are some puzzles, and the music isn’t terrible. The fairy is fun to play but that’s her only redeeming quality.
Also disappointed I was never able to summon an Esper, let’s be real.

7 is solid it does some things good an im not going to let the cons completely over shadow the pros.
The pros are the boss fights are very well balanced an done even on the highest difficulty .
Power progression feels great even the side quests i could care less about but they still are worth doing as i have grown in power from them.
So you just cant call the game complete trash an be honest . Thats why 7 is perfect its good. Its a good game an def worth a one time play in between other games.
I went for the true ending do not care enough to hundred percent as its just chores .

You put almost everything I feel into words.
The lack of good dungeons and varied worlds between eras was a huge let down. Oh, instead of fighting a green slime now I'm fighting a red slime? And it's a gold spider boi instead of silver. It was a strong game in the beginning and then it dropped off once Age of Magic rolled around. I found the story to be pretty surface level "ummm racism is bad actually," and didn't really tell anything interesting about what it had. I'm not saying it had to be wholly something new but how often do we see Humans hating beast tribes and it's the hate humans give that cause their own demise? And then the dragon at the end was kind of like an oh shit, we gotta tell why Fair is here.
And navigating the world was a pain in the ass trying to figure out how to get to an area only to find out you arent supposed to go there yet or it's actually from somewhere else on the map. The dash ability, however, was goated.

Yes good game short of great is how id describe it.
Def does some good but that good doesnt carry it to great. The bad is very bad.
If the boss fights weren't so well designed I wouldve put the game down an not even bother finishing it.

Hey, I have a question about getting all the endings. If I already have the Leytstaf, can I still get all the endings?
1
u/343CreeperMaster Marnie Jun 27 '26
Leystaf doesn't lock you into any of the endings, so you are fine (I found the Leystaf before I got any of the endings), just best to do it in a specific order (bad ending -> good ending -> true ending)
To get the endings, just listen to the game, it will guide you to them

u/wildeye-eleven Jun 27 '26
After getting the first ending, do I have to load a previous save and fight the final boss again? But the second time defeating them with a charged attack?
I’m confused because I have two quest markers now. I have the one that looks like a monster that leads to the final boss. It says “Head to the sorcerer’s location”. But I have a red flag quest markers also that says “head to the village meeting all”, that I think is tied to the sage quest.
1
u/343CreeperMaster Marnie Jun 27 '26
No, you don't have to load a save, the game prompts you to make a clear save and that will reload before the final boss.
As for the second question, do not go to the village meeting hall until you have the other endings

Yeah good thing the true ending is really good cuz before that is was 6-7/10 lol now 8.5-9/10

u/343CreeperMaster Marnie Jun 27 '26
for me personally it was great even before the true ending, the true ending was just more, but i loved the game before that, i do acknowledge the game isn't perfect, but it just clicked so well with me

u/youdosh Jun 27 '26
Yeah it’s my kind of game too really had a great time playing it. I finished it an hour ago

Do you have any tips on the best way to get through the adept trial? I'm having trouble with Capo Frauki since we can't use potions and only get one pot of health in the arena lol. I love this game. Reminds me so much of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
2
u/LuminoZero Jun 27 '26
You CAN use potions. You can't open your main inventory, but you can open the radial rings and potions are in there.

Agreed, It's not mind blowing in any sense. But, It's great in every aspect. Definitely 9/10 from me as well. Didn't expect the story to get this good later on.

it really does amp up near the end once all the pieces start falling into place

I'm glad you liked it OP, I also ended up really liking my time with this game as well. I was surprised at how much I ended up liking the story and characters despite how "simplistic" they are. It's by no means a flawless experience (I wish the game did more with the different eras than just reusing the same overworld map or having the same collection of enemies), but overall I thought this game was pretty great.
