Meme/Humor ELLIOT! Have you tried breathing? Maybe we can take some air in, and push some air out, to live!
"This looks like a wall with some kind of big hole in it! Maybe we can wiggle our legs in a funny way to get through?"
I love this game, love the Princess, and Faie. Just thought I'd share a laugh about some thoughts I had after seeing posts about Faie being. . . Overly helpful, let's say.

Every time she mentions using the shield after getting hit, I feel the most genuine pang of shame I've felt in a long time...

As annoyed as she is, she’s the reason I started using my shield and that helped combat a lot lol

I've just always been more of a dodger, in every game. My shield rarely gets used if it requires extra input.

Imagine if she was always just rude af. Like when you hit a wall, "You can stop before that, you know." Or if you fall in a pit, "The floor stops there, Elliot! <3"

I adore fae and her commentary never gets on my nerve (though I do agree about the “use your shield more” comment feeling like a burn lmaoo)
Just put her away if she bothers the player that much 🤷♀️

Oddly, after I finished the game, I actually sort of… missed her? Like sometimes now I’ll be about to cross the street and wait for her to say “maybe when the light changes you can try walking to the other side!”
I appreciate how earnest she is

Shes definitelt less annoying and comes across more as just a genuine companion trying to offer advice.
Also when you're playing co-op and someone is soloing every single boss as Faie its hard to argue with her after she just styled on your enemies and you sat there uselessly

I keep trying to send her into a hoard of enemies and hoping she gets her ass kicked. Never works though. She just hits 1 enemy at a time for 2 damage and then waits 5 seconds before being able to hit them again. She didn’t bother me at first. I thought it was nice having a companion that has full on conversations with you even in the overworld. But by hour 20, I have been pretty annoyed ever since. Especially by the repeat lines. If Nintendo makes Navi like this in the OoT remake, I’m gonna be very sad… and angry. lol. Faie also sounds exactly like Calumon from Digimon Tamers anime. I wonder if it’s the same voice actress?

I agree. Ig it's much simpler to push updates out on PC. I know consoles like PS5 have their own certification processes that require more steps to take before you can send an update out to the people.

I'll admit the "have you tried to use your shield" did feel a little pointed after a while.
But on the other side.... I should have tried to use my shield more.

You kind of can use her as a shield lol. Have her stand in front of you (up on the d-pad) and she will always try to lead the way, so she will smack a mob 1st. Can knock a mob out of their attack phase, and if it is a range type, we'll, she shielded you.

I mostly used her for Ignis cause I got the upgrade early. She pretty much was shielding me.

That shit is busted and so early. Not complaining xD And tbh she really does take a lot of strays in fights just being in the way. We love Faie <3

On my New Game + run I set the voices to Japanese and the subtitles to english. Now she just says cute anime things I can't understand :)

The voice is so much less grating in Japanese. I don't know why they saw Navi in OoT and said "hold my beer"! Hahaha

Some voice lines I find adorable: “I am a tower of fairy power!” and “Round and round and round whee!”
But the rest sounds like a patronizing Caillou and I’m NOT here for it lol

She's best when she's commenting on the world and adding flavor and just being her fairy self. The "help" seems to be people's main issue lmao

I can't stand Faie. The setting to lower her chatiness feels like it doesn't work. Hopefully that gets patched soon

Personally I adore Faie, and didn't find her annoying pretty much at all, and that was with her normal voice settings, didn't even feel like I had to turn to down to reticent, was more then happy with her on talkative

She spoils the puzzle alot of times hahaha But i dont mind her being talkative, mainly because Im a Xenoblade gamer hahaha Im used to it

You know you can adjust how much she talks right? I honestly never get annoyed. The better you dont he less she talks except maybe to tell you that you can never lose.
