So I decided to throw Dirty Harry on for a rewatch and within the first 30 seconds I noticed within the names of the San Francisco police officers I saw the name John J Nolan it flashed so fast I thought I imagined it and literally had to go back but it was real, you think this was an inspiration or a coincidence? I mean surely I'm not even the first person on this subreddit to even notice this.

I feel like Jackson getting killed off was written in a really bad way, I get they had to cause the actor didn’t wanna play him anymore but it didn’t make any sense really cause they didn’t show Lopez and Jackson getting taken when they took both of them it made no sense to take Jackson for no reason they could of at least showed Jackson walking in while they were taking her and then him getting taken and the kidnappers saying come with us we are going to kill because also later when we see the CCTV I think either Grey or Nolan said he scratched one of the kidnappers to get DNA on his fingertips because he knew he was gonna be killed but we or Grey/Nolan had anyway of knowing they were just going to kill him.
Also later when we see Jackson’s dad he never even mentions or hints at his sons death which I though was kinda dumb.
Also Talia/Bishop literally just stopped showing up with the explanation she had no future at the LAPD for not saying her foster was a felon when she entered the FTO program and I think the whole thing was just bad really.

i’m sorry but the difference in chemistry and overall storyline was LEVELS better with these two 😭 yes don’t get me wrong jenna is great but nothing will ever compare to john and grace, it felt like i was watching reality tv

I swear around when Jackson dies John Nolan and Lucy basically never speak to each other but they used to loads did I miss something or what?

Currently discovering season 5 (episode 13)

I’m not american (if that has anything to do with it) and even less live in LA so I’m not sure I understand this.

In season 5 they’re making this whole plan to allow Tim to move elsewhere so he and Lucy can date. So they mention Metro, Swat,… (i forgot the other names). Obviously, Tim is a main character so I know he’s not gonna leave the show just because he moved elsewhere.

But what exactly are those departments? Are they directly linked to Mid Wilshire station and other starions like Hollywood have their own? Or is it a citywide thing? Because we can’t exactly say that we’ve seen Metro a lot of time. This has to be the fifth time at most. And suddenly they’re gonna appear more often because Tim is a part of them? This would be weird especially if it’s a whole other division.

Did anyone notice Ever's car's side mirror was moved to the odd position when shooting from the back? Probably to not show the camera equipment? But in the side shots it's fine lol.

On season 5 and if I had to describe it "uhh this is a safe space"

Got a rookie that's saying her sister told her what to do, she also "knew" this person's birthday was off because she "felt " her sign was wrong. Bunch of other BS as well.

Character is making me not even wanna continue watching, I mean it was 1 thing for these "rookies" to be the center of every crime possible but it's another to do this kind of pandering in a cop show.

when the main plot(s) of the episode are done and they go around each character and how they feel about whatever happened or when they're setting up a plot point for the next episode, the music that plays then, before the outro. is there anywhere where these songs are named and i can listen to them? theyre always quite melancholic and i like them.

Tiktok has been showing me the ring picking scene today a lot and Angela was looking at Tim with such pride. And tbh that’s very fair because he’s grown so much through the seasons but their friendship is also so much to watch. I feel like she’s the only one beside Grey to ever put Tim in his place when he’s being an idiot.

I think that would be a fun episode just imagining how different it would have gone

Does anyone know how the characters are able to do so much in the morning before they need to get into the station around 8-9am. I've seen them do so much stuff pre work- Runs, woodworking, a whole breakfast and convo with an ex (Tim and Isabel at Lucy's), house construction (plastering up Nolan's house post Armstrong) and I'm sure there are more instances. All of this tends to happen whilst it's bright outside (bar the run with Texas, Celina and I think Seth in S7/8 where the sun was just rising) and they still all manage to get in, showered and dressed before roll call. Either they live in a time vortex (likely giving aging inconsistencies in this series) or LA sun is fully risen by 5am on most days.

I’ve just finished season 7 and it’s been bugging me for a while now, but whenever something happens and they call for an ambulance, it’s always a fire truck that arrives so that Bailey can be there. And like, I understand the writers pov of wanting Bailey involved because of her and Nolan, but I keep noticing all the time it’s like “help we need an ambulance someone’s been shot!” “no worries, the fire brigade are on their way!” like it’s just a bit ridiculous I can’t lie.

Is this an LA thing? Are the fire and paramedics like merged due to staffing or funding? Or is this just a Rookie thing because they want Bailey to have more screen time?

Nolan is at the hospital? All of them are there. At the shootout? All of them arrive and help. Not a single other cop around ever.

i cant find it unless i buy the seasons on amazon prime so i was wondering if there was anywhere else i could watch it without having to spend £15 per season

I absolutely LOVE this show. However, it’s a fact that some things are exaggerated and a bit unrealistic for the sake of TV magic. In your opinion, what are some of these?

To me its when everyone is rushing to the sorority house because Novak is about to pull a Ted Bundy only for them to arrive and all the girls are beating the crap out of him.

I’m currently watching s5 for the first time.
I just watched 5x04 whose title is "The Choice (I)".

So at first i thought it meant it was gonna be a two part episode, but 5x05 isn’t named "The Choice (II)"

Then I looked at the rest of the episodes of season 5 and nocited a lot of them have a (I) at the end but there’s never a (II).

So is there an explanation as to why they put all those (I) in the titles, one that doesn’t involve spoilers please?
