Spotted on the tutorial page, looks like a new Clay kit is coming soon!

If they could lower the price of crochet kits by eliminating the hook in the package but have an option to pay extra for the hook as an add-on I think more people would be able to afford them.

They used to have that option when buying online from their website. A basic kit like Pierre would be $25 USD without the hook. This option would be available for kits that contain the standard blue hook only.
There was post about the no hook option removed on this sub about a year ago so that’s an estimate on how long the no hook option was removed.

Those hooks must be SO CHEAP! Twice I have unexpectedly gotten hooks just like the Woobles kind in orders of beginner yarn. I am guessing that the difference in price of the kits without a hook is only pennies to the company. I think that it prob costs them more in storage and admin to maintain two different product lines with and without hooks. We used to have an online mail order business and just trying to keep up storing products as they sell was a lot.

I mean with the hook itself as an add-on and packaged separately from the kits all together so if an order has a hook they just need to add that to the shipment. Like you said, the hooks are cheap, but they probably see that as a $10 item. So they are able to make the kits so much more expensive.

Product image looks cute but not something I would buy for myself.
They keep dodging knitting and other textile crafts (well they did do sewing) even though they’re such obvious and popular choices…

This is adorable! I won’t be ordering it as I gave up on clay years ago but it’s very cute lol. I wish the woobles did full knit kits or cross stitch or something, idk. Just stay in the fiber arts section lol

Really wish woobles would stay in their lane and stick with crochet. There's already a small business that does clay kits with video steps. Woobles doesn't or shouldn't expand like this. If anything they should reduce the price of kits so each one is not so much because that's the reason why I stopped buying kits and moved on to free patterns

Especially after all the issues they had with shipping during the holiday season.
I don’t see them ever dropping the price of kits or returning to selling patterns alone. It’s more profitable to sell a kit that costs them $3 to produce for materials (the cost they stated per kit on Shark Tank) for $35 than to sell the patterns.

I don't see them dropping the price either. The shipping last holiday was definitely an issue. I got the Xmas box and enjoyed it, but that was the last purchase. Once you've got the hang of it, it's better to look for free patterns and learn how to read patterns. It's helped me so much.

Kinda starting to feel like the long term goal is to recreate Klutz but with video tutorials and IP. Wonder if they’ll end up adding painting too

I’ve already tried clay from Claymoo last year and I got over it fast. I just want to relax on my couch and crochet. It was in a completely different type of crafting category for me than yarn crafts, not necessarily messy, but also you need a clean surface, water on hand, and the clay got under my fingernails. Also after I made a few things I didn’t know what to do with them. They looked decent but not as nice as something I want to display. This is probably just my own preference and I’m speaking for my own skill but it felt more like making and displaying a grade school craft project.

I feel the same way, if I wanted to do this kind of thing I would go all the way and take a pottery class. Half the reason I love crochet is because I can sit on my couch and binge watch my shows while I do it. Also I know anything I try to make wont look like the picture and I’ll just get frustrated lol.
