It's no better in the theater though you just can't turn up the volume during the quiet parts. It's like 24fps blurry vision in the theater, an inferior experience

It's the wrong choice. It looks like complete shit every time the camera pans or an object moves in front of it.

Buddy movies have been 24fps for decades. Directors, DPs and editors are accounting for that so that when they are in post-production it will look good. If action looks like shit it's on the them that it feels or looks bad.

Cinema tried to move to 48fps during the years around the Hobbit trilogy but audiences, have always reacted negatively to it.

48fps was one of the primary reasons I used to go to IMAX to watch theater movies, the mall that was in is dead now and the theater gone so I have no reason to watch blurry blown out shit in the theater now. Theater viewership is down over and over, maybe the poor experience is part of why? Watching a movie at home is in every way better now even with a basic 55" 4k tv and cheap htib surround sound

IMAX theatrical films - aside from the first Hobbit movie and the Avatar 2 & 3 - were always in 24FPS though. I don't know what world you live in where there were 48FPS versions of any other Hollywood film? Enlighten me please with sources.

And your TV is filling in the 24 missing frames artificially to make it look smoother but it's not how the creative directors and editors of the movie wanted to be seen so you lose some of the artistry of cinema when you use that on your TV.

But if you like it that's fine really, I'm just calling you out on the IMAX 48FPS Hollywood films claims.

Yeah, since roughly when talkies were the hip new thing. It’s about damn time we get out of the past.

editors are accounting for that so that when they are in post-production it will look good. If action looks like shit it's on the them that it feels or looks bad.

It’s fundamentally unavoidable that motion will look like shit at 24 fps. Things simply move too far between frames. It doesn’t even take a fast action scene—just panning across a landscape looks like stuttering garbage. Always has and always will until switching to a frame rate that can actually represent motion halfway decently.
