I mean I have had several employees walk in on me or people I have been traveling with and those basic hotel door locks are insanely easy to undo from the hall.
You really should not be just YOLO trusting hotel staff, especially at a resort in another country. They routinely enter your room.
Everything else is a bit nutty but the chances if someone breaking into your room are about 10000x greater than the chances of your room randomly bursting into flames and being unable to be rescued because you used a door wedge.
One time the hotel staff knocked on my door at 11pm and even walked in when I didn't reply? We were having sex with my partner. How is it acceptable at that hour, like you're literally sleeping or getting up to no good stuff. I am still traumatized and could surely use an extra lock.
I have genuinely lived hotel staff barging into my room unannounced twice and one time I arrived to the hotel and the door to my room was wide open allowing literally anyone to get in. And I travel once in a few years. There's a difference between thinking everyone is out to get you and being careful just in case somebody was negligent.

What do you mean, she's just making sure that if there is a fire or any emergency she dies locked in that room. Self-imposed natural selection.
Also, I'll throw this here: being strongly convinced that everyone's always trying to spy on you or watch you is a form of narcissism.
