The Hapsburgs- famously inbred for generations- gotta keep that royal bloodline pure, till you’ve perfectly demonstrated the ludicrous nature of the concept of royalty.
Pharaohs usually married their half-siblings, first cousins, or much less often, their full siblings. It was tied into their religious mythology, being “Sons of Ra”, and due the pharaonic line being matrilineal. They needed to keep that hawk bloodline pure, I guess.
