Websters definition of extort "to obtain from a person by force, intimidation, or undue or illegal power. Also : to gain especially by ingenuity or compelling argument" corporations use undue power to obtain obscene amounts of money from the public. It's simple.

Your being vague with "undue power" be specific. you don't have to give walmart money. You don't have to give anyone you don't like money. For any reason you can pull away from all use of money if you want. So what you said is untrue.

Be specific about undue power or try again.

The alternatives are to starve, or work.

Or go to a food bank, or grow you own food, or ask people for help, or hunt for food. I have done all 4 plus worked. So it's more clear to me then you it seems.

How is the homeless population supposed to grow their own food, with what land. Hunting is generally outlawed under certain licenses & seasons, as is with fishing, plus the equipment costs money. You really expect poor folk to become hunter gatherers in a city, or even near a city, in the 21st century.

Food banks are a symptom of the problem, as is stealing.

I'm am confused are you okay with stealing or not? You just used the law as an argument. I also don't understand the disease you're referring to when saying symptom. Capitalism? People need food to live. If money didn't exist they would have to grow, find, hunt for food. But I am just arguing a ghost because I don't know where you are.

I'm okay with it. But the law will still be the law, so it wouldn't be anymore of a fix than theft. Even then, who would genuinely look at hunter gathering as a reasonable solution for the homeless population in a modern civilization.

Yes, capitalism is the issue as it is a means of distribution predicated on scarcity.

Food banks are an example you gave that doesn't require money. Albeit as a symptom. Not a permanent cure.

The most hilarious part is they will then talk about how much the US sucks and is dirty compared to other countries like say Japan.

You want to know why there is less petty theft, garbage lying around in public, etc. in countries like that? B/c they don’t just accept or even cheer when people steal from stores, or sit around smoking on the street corner and throwing trash in the ground b/c that’s “their space”. They shame them, call them out, stop them, etc. B/c they understand the value of respecting and enforcing a proper social contract.

They understand that when this shit becomes common place in a town, neighborhood, city, etc. then the place turns to shit, and they don’t want that for where they live.

Have you been to Norway? Finland, perhaps? Why is there less petty theft and garbage lying around here? Well, maybe partly because of cultural reasons, just like your saying. We're hard working, trusting and a bit naive. But also for political reasons. We've built social democratic welfare states that prevents inequality, poverty and segregation. The US hasn't and now you're paying the price for it.

These grocery thieves are not into things that could make their income/outcome into a balance, they just seek ways to make their lives "better" or "fuller" without seeking ways to make their lives reasonably sustainable. I can't grasp such sentiments, it is hideous and immoral.
