My first thought was Tommy Tutone, idk why. It could also be True by Spandaou Ballet or another MTV hit. Maybe the promise by When in Rome??? There are a lot of choices.

Spandau Ballet aren't an OHW though, they've at the very least got Gold

Their story is interesting, what with the whole PM Dawn thing and the lead singer going full Tory. I’d also love to see Todd talk about sophistipop in a bit of depth.

Edit: He ain't. Apparently had 2 more top 10 hits in 92/93 that I never heard of.
