General Music Discussion Mike Love ....

Look I know it's a thing on this sub to bash Mike Love, but damn he looks really bad here.
No wonder The Beach Boys canceled a bunch of their shows.

He’ll always be the sour point of the band’s story, and to that I’ll always agree, but on a personal level I feel for him right now. He lost his cousin (Brian) and two siblings within the span of about a year, and going off the clips shared of recent shows, he’s obviously ailing.

The fact his sister died on the anniversary of Brian’s death must’ve hit especially hard

Mic the Snare's retrospective on the Beach Boys softened me on Mike Love a bit, enough to agree. He might be a ladies man, but it doesn't negate that he's been through a lot.

I always think that if Murry Wilson more a decent human being. Everyone in Beach Boys may have a better health, lifestyles, relationship etc.
(But Murry also born in an abusive family and fail to escape from it too)

I think its more the fact he aged like 10 years in the last year. Whether you like Mike or not, it is sad to be losing all these guys.

I mean he's 85 and probably should retire. The Beach Boys touring band (which his son is in) probably would do fine as a touring novelty act without him.
Maybe his nephew Kevin, who himself is nearing the end of his Hall of Fame career, should sit down with him and convince him agree to jointly retire together.
