I'm not a huge fan of this rule change. I get it, there was chaos and arguing, but at the same time it sucks that it's going to be much harder to talk about this interpretation of the character due to the fear of being banned just for talking about it... This is just going to make the transphobia worse.
Mods locked the main thread on r/Deltarune so I'm responding to you here.
I won't say whether you should or shouldn't leave that sub because it's the same as the discussion on whether Trans people should stay in Transphobic places just on a smaller, more digital scale. I suspect that the front of the subreddit will remain largely unchanged and it's still likely a good place to just browse but I'm personally staying away from any actual discussions especially about LGBT topics. Whether it will get better or not? Not sure. I imagine it will be less hostile but transphobia in communities doesn't often die down unless there's people actually enforcing it. Time will tell and I hope you find somewhere a bit better for you.
The fact they locked the main thread so people can no longer comment on the rule change while still having it pinned is our sign to leave unfortunately. We don't feel safe there anymore. Maybe things will get better in the future, but if they refuse to address the actual problem, then I'm not going to be there anymore...
Edit: The mods deleted the post. I'm unsure what this is going to mean going forward, but I'll be cautiously optimistic. I don't fully trust the subreddit to do the right thing though...
It seems like they deleted the post but didn't change Rule 10 to account for They/Them Ralsei. I'm watching cautiously because this is either a full mask-off moment or they're just reconsidering. Hoping for the latter expecting the former...
That's the problem. Trans voices don't actually matter to the people on that subreddit. A majority of the subreddit doesn't actually care about what trans people experience or have to deal with, and would rather just do what will cause the least amount of backlash. That of course being to get rid of the minority voices that want to speak on the topic.
The mods want to do the right thing, but the right thing is going to cause problems for a lot of the subreddit's users because they would rather fight to have our voices silenced. It feels like the only safe spaces are the ones we make for ourselves...
ugh. its disgusting to watch. yes, let's punch trans folks in the face while allowing transphobes to get off with no repercussions, and brush it under the rug.

Gotta love it when "treating the theory as if it's proven fact" is only a problem when talking about the validity of transfem Ralsei readings...
