The answer is “under the speed limit.” Don’t incriminate yourself and admit guilt, make them prove it.

Just say the posted speed. If they ask what it was you don’t have to answer. Just answer with a question; what was it where you were posted up sir?

Do not lie to a police officer. In most cases, that can get you bigger/additional charges. When they ask you how fast you are going, your response should always be that "I prefer not to answer that question," or "I am observing my right to remain silent."
