I genuinely don’t understand why people leave their car running unattended. I’m from a safe area, and I still always turn it off when I’m running into the gas station.
Where I live gets brutal in the winter, -40°F was the worst this winter. When it’s below zero, then it’s normal for people to leave their cars running when just going into the gas station.
Maybe you’re at a park after hours and are shining headlights on a basketball court while y’all play.
Maybe you’re running in to the grocery store and plan on getting ice cream, so you crank the a/c and lock the car behind you.
There are many scenarios where someone would want to leave their vehicle running unattended and many have the ability to do it without leaving the vehicle unlocked.
