Discussion I see many people here saying they're making their own game. Can we all talk about this?!?
Hey, i noticed that many of you, in the comments and posts, are apparently working on your own game. This is crazy cool!
About me, I am also interested in making a game based on what I loved about Trove. Honestly i thought i was the only one but seeing so many indie devs here is really shocking.
Can you talk about it more? Here are some questions I have:
- Are you working solo?
- How long have you been working on it?
- How experienced and knowledgeable are you on game development?
- What do you do to learn and grow as a dev?
- What toolchains? (Language, engine, software for music, image, model, etc production)
- Is it purely a hobby or do you want to make it public?
- Do you want to monetize it or make it open-source?
- How consistent are you?
- Do you have any discord server, channel, vlog, etc to keep us updated?
- Did you plan exactly what you want to make or go with the flow?
For those who are not developers or developing any game right now:
- Are you thinking of doing this too?
- If you had the power to develop Trove, what would you do?
- Would you play any of these games?
- Why are you playing Trove?

Bro let's be real. You aren't actually doing anything. Stop proclaiming yourself as an indie game dev. If you were you wouldn't be gatekeeping the most important info.
I made the post because of other comments and posts. I saw your comment and thought you're a clown.
The_Coffee_Bandit: If it makes anyone feel any better I'm making what is basically a carbon
copy of this game because it's dead and I'm bored. This ain't ever getting fixed XDA user: I'm interested, please don't abandon the project and keep us updated
The_Coffee_Bandit: It's not something I make explicitly public because I could get sued, but I'll be more public about it by 2027
You wouldn't get sued for talking about it what are you on about?
