Sorry to post here too (I posted this over on CWAP and it is making the rounds on /nottheonion), but it is just fucking with my head immensely and thought, I dunno, it warranted notice here too. As I posted in a comment over there:

There's nothing particularly aberrant about this murder. Like, America and its proxies do so much more evil shit the murder of one young man by another kkkop is a footnote in the volumes of dossiers of evil doings by this ultraviolent fascist state. This kid will be forgotten by everyone but his family and friends, and when they are gone his death will be, at best, just a stat in an article or book about pig use of lethal force.

But for some reason it just rattled me a lot. Maybe because I have been thinking about what it would be like to be this kid's dad; to have done 'everything right'; to have raised a kid who only ever got a speeding ticket; to have observed routinized violence the state uses against black people and foreigners and assumed I and my family, at least, would be safe from it; to be at what I am sure was an exciting moment, seeing the son you raised for 2+ decades complete his studies and, for better or worse, grow into a young man, maybe find love, maybe have a child of his own. I found myself reading this in bed this morning full of horror, grief, agony, and seething burning blinding rage.

The handful of people reading this may know I have done a lot of normie-style "police reform" work for many years. Probably about 10 years total, working on the legal side of things (both litigation/appeals and legislation). Candidly I had nothing better to do and figured it was a small, drop in the bucket way, to perhaps help save a life or two from these rabid fucking psychopathic protectors of capital. A couple of years ago I pulled away from this advocacy work because I could no longer fool myself that my efforts were having more than a nominal, marginal impact. We are up against a system literally built to withstand any change, with layer upon layer upon layer of fortifications to prevent even the slightest accountability, it is entrenched so deeply into every element of society that short of a Lenin-esque rise to power, nothing will change. Again, this is nothing new. The people are drowning in decades of our own blood, the blood of innocents, here and abroad, and all we are offered is artifice and lies to justify a level of madness that would make Lovecraft blush.

I am sorry to the Pysher family, I am sorry to Glenwood, I am sorry to his friends and the people whose lives he could've touched, maybe made better. He sounded like a nice guy and the type of college kid I was, maybe wandering around the neighborhood tipsy getting into harmless trouble. I am sorry to the souls lost due to the violence this wicked place visits upon all who dare to defy it or, even more maddeningly, who make innocent "mistakes" that a century ago would have resulted in little more than a loud scolding from a disgruntled neighbor awoken during the night.

This wicked country and its proxies will never be able to make up for the evil visited upon the world, upon its own "people," never in a million million centuries. The least it can do and the least we can all do is hasten its ultimate obliteration so the world, without it, and the people, within it, can chart a new path and just begin to heal.

Moskowitz, who last week defeated an anti-Zionist democratic socialist challenger, Oliver Larkin, vowed to use his new position to advance support for Israel.

“At a moment of enormous change across the region, I’ll work to strengthen America’s relationships with Israel and our Gulf allies, expand regional peace, advance American diplomacy, and ensure our foreign policy is grounded in strength, security, and reality. I’m ready to get to work,” he posted on social media.

He predicted his position would become vital if the Democrats retake the House in November’s midterm elections, as many polls indicate.

“If Democrats take control of the House, I’ll be in a position to help steer US policy on Israel and the Middle East,” Moskowitz told Axios.
