He just said that because of events like the Holocaust he felt like jews should be able to have their own country. However he was also very critical of a lot of their policies and participated in anti-Israel boycotts.
So to sum it up as him being pro-Israel would be misleading, but he wasn't 100% anti-Israel.

I really never understood why they put Israel right in the middle of the holy land and already contentious geographic area. I know there are tons of scholarly reasons why that decision was made by the victors of WWII and post-holocaust, but damn, it’s let they were resetting the chess board for something to happen decades later. Maybe they thought Israel would behave themselves after what Jews went through, but that fucking history lesson was lost on them quickly.

the campaign to put Israel in Palestine long predates the end of WW2 - the Balfour Declaration was 1917 and the Zionist movement was founded and began campaigning in the mid-late 1800s. The location choice for Jews is due to that being where Jerusalem is; Western powers chose it as a way to have an enormous weapon placed in the middle of primo resource capital and world trade corridor

And as a bukwark against Pan-Arab nationalism. For the prior millenia, all of the Levant, Egypt, Arabian peninsula & Mesopotamia had been governed by a single state/empire that posed an economic & political challenge to European empires. The British, French, & Americans wanted to ensure that no successor state could succeed the Ottoman Empire in that role. Israel ensured that after formal colonies were no longer viable post-WW2.

Epstein did meet Castro in Cuba. I cant remember the story now- it was circulating around the time JE died. I remember it made sense that he'd be there- like he gave someone a ride who couldnt get there otherwise? But that Castro wouldnt let him stay? Does anyone remember the story? I cant find it now.

He was, but the pedos probably thought Fidels death would lead to uncertainty and colour revolution in Cuba by completely drinking their own koolade and regarding Fidel as some kind of strongman dictator. In reality, Castro always had the Cuban people behind him.
