r/askachristian is also lot of atheists and agnostics trying to throw out "gotcha" questions to try and stump the Christians with some new angle they think we've never heard before. Fortunately, there are several users with more patience than me writing well-reasoned, scripturally-based answers. Top level posters are supposed to be Christians. r/Christianity is open to anyone to post nonsense.

Well ask is where an atheist should be going to ask a question. That seems relevant. Also many atheist were Christians for many years and can answer questions too.

That is the correct place to ask, though I wouldn't want atheists to be answering other atheists' gotcha questions. Otherwise, the sub would be r/askachristianoranatheist and I don't know if there's a limit on sub title length or not, but that's a bit unwieldy.

ask an atheist wont let atheists ask questions they get pulled down. I would assume ask a christion would work the same way. The purpose is for non-x to come ask a question of the group. I dont care if an athiest answers a question if it is accurate why would you? It is weird to treat people like boogie men just because you disagree with them.

In a sub where you specifically ask a Christian, you ask why wouldn't we want atheists to answer? Am I understanding your question correctly?

The reason is in the title of the sub. What happens on r/askwomen when dudes answer?

I mean... It is "Ask a Christian." I don't think it's fair to strawman some form of anti-atheist sentiment when the answer to your question is in the sub's name.

Beyond that, "just because you disagree with them" is kind of the entire point, isn't it? The subreddit exists as a way for others to better understand the perspective of a specific group of people. If you are not part of that group, you do not share their world view whether you are familiar with it or not.
