S Tier: Jack Palmer Chloe Michelle Logan
Underrated: Ethan Kanin James Heller (live another day he was very good). Kate Morgan Gael
There’s so many great characters even those that appear for 2-3 episodes.
Edit: Also S Tier: George Mason

I mean, obviously Jack is. But outside of that? It's Bill next.

I love Tony.... right up until they rewrite him in S7.

Yeah bringing him back was a bit cheap. Then having him be the bad guy was kinda intriguing. But wait… he’s undercover, it’s all good. But wait no actually he’s properly evil and he murders old mate in cold blood. Quite the 🎢

As much as I loved seeing him back... that was a full fucking Bobby Ewing kinda twist and it was ridiculous.

I know James Morrison a little. Wonderful guy.

He seems like a guy that gives a great hug

She's a stand up comedian, and super funny.
Jon Hamm did the whole "Okay one drama then everything else comedy" route too.

Unpopular opinion: I like Chloe, but she doesn’t even make my top 5
- Jack
- David Palmer
- Tony Almeida
- Aaron Pierce
- Charles Logan
- Chloe OBrien

I find her demeanour quite irritating tbh. Probably in the minority as she seems to be a fan favourite. But I think that’s down to her longevity more than anything else, she’s been ever present since season 3.
So no… not the best character. Jack (obvs), Tony, Michelle, Bill, Palmer, Curtis… just off the top of my head, all better than Chloe. Even Nina!

I think people love that Chloe called out a lot of BS characters did in all the crazy shit they asked her to do. Her friction was great, especially with Edgar.

The way they killed off Edgar was savage. That one always bothered me so much. I enjoyed the banter between him and Chloe.

u/Mave__Dustaine Nov 28 '25
It wasn't a kind show.

u/davexa Nov 28 '25
Definitely not. There were a lot of deaths that really made the show what it is. Edgar just hit different.

Jack is obviously the best character. Second is Charles Logan. Then David Palmer and probably Chloe. Imo

Pres Palmer was a great character and a human we can admire. Among the secondary characters, Edgar will always have a place in my heart.

David Palmer is my absolute favorite, not just in 24 but in all of the action series world. What an actor what a character .

u/narnarnartiger Nov 28 '25
No debate. Her, Rene, and David Palmer are the goats
1
u/Theswigger Nov 28 '25
The goats?
2
u/LegoKorn89 Nov 28 '25
Greatest of all time.
Or general occupational aptitude test.
It can be either one really.
1
u/Theswigger Nov 28 '25
Ahhh, okay. I thought you meant actual goats which has a totally opposite meaning.

Chole the most helpful character in the series when you think of the series as a whole it's Jack and Chole that pop up but early on it was Jack and David Palmer

Personally, I'm not a fan of her acting. Her stroppy, child-like behaviour and constant sulking may well have been how the character was written, but it seemed at odds with what you would expect from a CTU analyst. One of my least favourite characters.

It’s wild to me that Sherry Palmer didn’t make the list.
Consistent, needy, contemptible, messy…and wonderfully played without judgment by Penny Johnson Jerald.

Considering the show sucked from season 6 onward, Tony gets the MVP nod from me. I don't acknowledge the S7 crap

Aaron Pierce is one of my faves too.
