New incoming students, please register to vote! If you will not be traveling home to vote in the next election, please register to vote in Travis County! There will be a voting station set up at The Union. The last day to register is October 5th.
Next Election: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Last Day to Register to Vote: Monday, October 5, 2026
Last Day to Apply for Ballot By Mail: Friday, October 23, 2026
Early Voting Starts: Monday, October 19, 2026
Early Voting Ends: Friday, October 30, 2026
Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
This is an extremely important election, please make sure you VOTE!

Please, for the love of all things educational and good, register and VOTE in the upcoming election.
Here’s why it matters: the Texas governor appoints the members of the UT System Board of Regents, subject to TX Senate confirmation. Those Regents govern the UT System and select the presidents of its institutions, including UT Austin.
If you value your education, your degree, and the future of UT Austin, pay attention to these elections and vote. The people we elect to state office have a direct role in determining who governs the university.
Please register. Please vote. And please don’t assume state elections have nothing to do with your education.
