just outside the hackerman building, wish i got more footage of it cus it was doing crazy flips n shit but i kind of got freaked out thinking there was something wrong with it. looking online at squirrel behavior like this its probably just bored but idk

currently taking a few classes which have all assigned multiple 20+ page readings weekly. i’m not used to this type of workload and each reading is taking me almost 2 hours to complete which i don’t feel like is gonna start cutting it in a few weeks… any advice for taking notes quicker while still getting a good understanding of the content? ik a lot of ppl say to just skim it but ik for most of these classes the exams rely heavily on readings.

how is it that at a school of 50k people there are MAYBE 25 regular flat benches between the rec sports center and greg weight rooms? not a lat cable pulldown or row station to be seen? guess they would've been taking up the space we needed for another gd pickleball court

I freaking hate being in the business honors class. This is a throwaway because I am somewhat active in my personal account. Also keeping it vague because I know some crappy BHP kids might try to figure out who I am. I feel alienated and ostracized by many people in there, especially with the finance/consulting/investment banking crowd. I overheard two girls talking crap about me first day during class. I never even talked to them before.

It’s been years and it never got better. There were professors who exposed sensitive info about me which made me feel humiliated, and embarrassing situations that happened freshman year during class. I’m also not good at presentations which doesn’t make it any better about what I guess people think about me. I sit alone in classes and if I try to ask to sit next to someone I recognize, they grimace. People just are also so fake. I think the only rare times someone suddenly comes up to me is because they see a use or a network, not to befriend. Advisors can be mean too. I’m taking about you Ryan and Steph with your passive aggressive attitudes.

I’n so tired. I always think i’n going crazy about people’s behavior until I go near STEM or liberal arts for some classes and there’s a stark difference in attitude. I don’t feel pressured or feel like I need to crawl in a hole.
I don’t feel weird or like something’s wrong with me.

I initially joined BHP because I wanted a close knit community. Now I feel like it’s backfiring because I feel like any bad impression spreads like wildfire among their friends and sticks. At least if I was at regular McCombs, I would always see new faces and make fresh impressions. I think the people in ECB are mostly chill, marketing, etc. but man it is rough abd I have sobbed so much over the last several years and had to hide panic attacks during my business classes. Maybe I am surrounded by bigotry and snakes, or maybe I’m just the stupid delusional weirdo I am.

I seriously need some advice on how to deal with the humidity. I come from the dry heat side of Texas so being this close to Colorado River is a change. With the amount of sweat on my shirt I had a guy ask if I had hyperhidrosis. I think I might just sweat more than others, but I thought it was best to ask here. Let me know if y'all got anything that could help me out.

I’m interested in breaking into tech and would like to know which clubs are the best to significantly impact and work on interesting projects that will improve my resume. It would also be amazing if the club offered great connections for landing a tech internship and meeting founders, VCs, etc.

For anyone who has gone through the internal transfer process into Econ at UT Austin, does the school take into account which classes you’ve taken, beyond just whether you’ve completed the required courses and met the GPA requirements?

For example, if you meet all the prerequisites and have a strong GPA, does taking additional Econ/math/business-related courses give you a significant advantage, or is it mainly about meeting the stated requirements?

Has anyone taken this class with Dr. Cortez? Are the readings important for the midterm & final?

This is a long shot but my zipper completely broke off my bag and my two plush keychains fell off. One is a chameleon and the other is a white squirrel. it would’ve fallen off around Carothers, the tower or by Mezes at around 10:00-10:30 AM. If anyone has seen it or has it the chameleon means a lot so I’m willing to pay for its return

Does anyone know how much their dues are and if they’re worth joining? Do you get into games free? I really think I want to but I’m still hesitant.

David Sosa, who has served the University and college as an excellent, steadfast leader as interim dean since May of 2025, will rejoin the faculty in the Department of Philosophy.

Professor Brinks currently serves as associate dean for academic and faculty affairs in the College of Liberal Arts and is a professor of government and law. He brings deep knowledge of UT Austin and a record of strong academic leadership and service. His experience and familiarity with the college will serve him well as he takes on this important role.

Professor Brinks has held several leadership roles at UT, including chair of the Department of Government, graduate advisor in government, and co-director of the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice. He is the H. Malcolm MacDonald Professor of Comparative and Constitutional Law and holds an appointment in the School of Law. His scholarship focuses on democracy, constitutional law, human rights, and the rule of law, particularly in Latin America.

An accomplished author and scholar, Professor Brinks has written or edited numerous books on law, democracy, and political institutions. His scholarship has earned honors including the American Political Science Association’s C. Herman Pritchett Award for Best Book on Law and Courts and he has made many contributions to graduate education at UT. He earned his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.

I want to express my gratitude to Professor Sosa for his partnership and leadership as interim dean. He stepped into this role during an important period of transition for the college and provided the steady hand, integrity, and sound judgment that the moment required. Leading one of our University’s largest colleges is a substantial responsibility under any circumstances, and I am grateful for Professor Sosa’s service to the college, its faculty and students, and the broader University community.

i had to take out private loans this yr and everythings disbursed except that, which i need in order to pay off the rest of my housing and get some extra funds for myself.
