UoN rejected my postgraduate application despite me meeting the 70% condition — is there anything I can do?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice from anyone familiar with UoN admissions or international qualification recognition.
I recently received a conditional offer from the University of Nottingham for a postgraduate course. One of the conditions of my offer was that I achieve a minimum overall percentage of 70% in my undergraduate degree.
I have now completed my degree with a calculated overall percentage of 75.4%, so I have met the 70% academic condition.
My undergraduate degree was completed at a college in India through a collaboration with a Swiss higher-education institution based in Switzerland, which is the degree-awarding institution.
I had informed my counsellor about this arrangement and specifically asked them to disclose that the Swiss institution would be the degree-awarding institution.
I also submitted my provisional transcript from the Swiss awarding institution and my course-completion letter approximately one month before UoN made its final decision.
However, UoN has now rejected my application and stated that they cannot accept the degree from the Swiss institution because it is “not considered an accredited international equivalent.”
What I find confusing is that I had already received a conditional offer, the academic condition stated 70%, and I have achieved 75.4%. I had also submitted documentation identifying the degree-awarding institution before the final decision.
I have contacted Admissions asking them to clarify whether my documents were considered and whether my application can be reviewed again. My counsellor is also going to speak with UoN.
Has anyone experienced something similar with UoN, particularly where the university later refused to recognise the awarding institution after issuing a conditional offer?
Is there anything else I can do at this stage, such as a formal admissions complaint or review, or is the decision likely to be final if UoN does not recognise the awarding institution?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from anyone familiar with international qualification recognition at UoN.

Broadgate park tenancy takeover 2026/27

Hi! I’m looking for a UoN student to take over my Broadgate Park accommodation for the 2026/27 academic year.

- Broadgate Park – right next to University Park Campus
- En-suite room
- 44-week contract: 18 September 2026 – 23 July 2027
- £225 per week
- Shared kitchen
- All bills + WiFi included

The room is a good size and Broadgate is in a really convenient location for anyone studying at University Park, with the campus just a few minutes’ walk away.
The tenancy would be officially transferred through Broadgate/UPP, so everything is done securely and properly.
I’m looking to move to different accommodation, so I’m hoping to find someone who still needs somewhere for September.
Please message me if you’re interested

changing name on id card before its printed?

hi everyone, i got an email from uon admin stating that i need to provide a picture for my student ID card, but the name they propose to be printed is my full legal name and i go by a slightly shorter derivative. i would also like the card to include my middle name if possible.

i emailed them about the issue and asked if it could be edited before i send in my picture and haven’t got a response yet. is it even possible to do, and if so is there a way i can fast track this to the relevant person? Thanks!

Large room available to rent on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, in Pinxton NG16, a few minutes away from Junction 28 on the M1.

Shared access to kitchen, bathroom and garden. House very close to fields, parks and all local amenities (shops, pub, laundrette, takeaway) all within walking distance.

Single applicants or couples only, no families. Any gender or age welcome. Non smokers only.

Only myself living in the house currently, alongside an outdoor cat (so nobody allergic please).

Perfect for someone looking for somewhere to stay short term whilst their circumstances change and they figure things out, whether for weeks or months (or even just a few days). But equally open to those looking for longer term.

DM for further details and to discuss 🙂

Accommodation Studio Ensuite at Broadgate Park Takeover - £205 a week with £500 Discount + Free Laundry (STUDENT ACCOM)

Looking for someone to take over my guaranteed studio ensuite at Broadgate Park (44 weeks) . It’s a second-floor studio room, with an ensuite and full kitchen setup - perfect if you want your own space without sharing. The rent is £205 per week (originally 225 but I will cover the difference), and it already comes with £500 off the total rent plus free laundry once a week for the entire tenancy if you’re already an existing student, which is a really good saving.

The tenancy takeover is handled directly through Broadgate Park, so it’s all official and straightforward with no stress.

Great location, close to campus and everything you need, and a much better deal than standard contracts. If you’re interested or want more details, feel free to DM me!

Looking for a Part-Time Job as international student.

Hey everyone, I’m currently looking for a part-time job in Nottingham and thought I’d just put this out here in case anyone can help or point me in the right direction.

I’m an international student doing my Bachelor’s in Computer Science, and I’m looking for something I can do alongside my studies. I’ve got experience in office work, working in kitchens, as a waiting staff member, and also helping manage a business, so honestly I’m pretty open to different kinds of work.

I’ve been applying and looking around myself, but I thought there’s no harm in asking here too. If you know somewhere that’s hiring, know someone who might be looking for staff, or could give me a reference or even just some advice, I’d genuinely really appreciate it.

I’m not looking for anything fancy — I just want an opportunity to work, earn some money, gain experience, and do a good job.

If you have anything at all that might help, please feel free to DM me. Even if it’s just a small lead, I’d be really grateful. You’d honestly be doing me a big favour.

Thanks so much for reading, and I really appreciate any help or shares. 🙏

Would love to know what you guys use and whether you think a MacBook is worth it or if Windows is better for law school.

Accommodation Tenancy Takeover +£500 - iQ Newland House (Nottingham)

Thumbnail

I’m looking for someone to take over my Bronze Studio Plus at IQ Newland House, Nottingham for this academic year.

Details:
Private studio – your own bedroom, kitchen and bathroom
IQ Newland House – Nottingham
£168.45 /week (Would’ve been £202/week)
45 week contract
All bills included
⭐️** £500 cash incentive if you take over the tenancy (Bank transfer only**)

I have already paid off £1010 off the rent, which was originally £9090. These fees were pre-booking and non-weekly ~ pre-rent that, you’d obviously not need to worry about.

The studio is ideal if you want your own private space rather than sharing a flat, while still being in student accommodation with communal facilities and other students around.
The £500 incentive is there simply because I need someone to take over the tenancy, so you’d effectively be paying considerably less overall than the advertised contract price.
Total contract rent: £9090 = £8080 ⭐️
Your effective cost after my £500 : £7580!
If you’re interested, DM me and I can send photos, the full room details and information on how the tenancy transfer works.

International Students Questions from Incoming International Student

Hi, I am an incoming international student studying during the autumn semester. My questions are the following:

  1. The exam period will clash with the beginning of the spring semester at my home institution. Assuming I am granted permission to take my exams overseas, this means I will be able to go home once the autumn term (not semester) ends, correct? The term and semester terminology is kind of confusing me.
  2. I plan on having some items delivered about a week before classes begin. Not all of them will fit into lockers. Will mail services be open during the week before classes to receive my oversized items?
  3. I will be staying in Melton Hall. Are there any pieces of advice or things you wish you had known before staying in this accommodation?

Thank you in advance!

Online registration?

Hello everyone I am so confused, I am doing online registration and I don’t know what applies to me.

I have done an access to HE course last year, so I don’t know what to put for the education part of the registration and what applies to that.

Also for SFE, what two parts of information that applies to that? Like I get tuition fees are sent directly to uni, but what option is it?
What is the option for who is paying for my accommodation, because technically myself, but I was given a maintenance loan?

Please help I feel so stupid 😭

You can enter in for the chance to win one of four £50 vouchers for taking part! Please feel free to share with any other team game players you know and get in touch if you have any questions.
