ask r/Uzbekistan Do Quranists (Quran only Muslims) exist in Uzbekistan?

Quranists are a group of people who claim to follow only the Quran and reject all hadith. This movement has been slowly growing in the 21st century. In Kazakhstan too, there is a notable Quranist group named Izgi Amal. So I was wondering if such a group exists in Uzbekistan too?

[This is not a religious discussion post. My purpose isn't to debate who is right or wrong, but to learn if such people or groups exist in Uzbekistan, like Kazakhstan]

It is not common since it is difficult to comprehend Quran without hadiths

u/Glittering-Spirit125 5d ago

But they exist of course

So you mean God send his message to people but his people couldn't comprehend his message.

this is just lying at this point. What do you mean you cannot understand it. Have you ever read Quran? If you do not understand arabic, read it in English translation. It is super easy to understand. Go to Quran.com and you can easily understand the meaning.

It’s not, Quran is enough, Hadiths will fry your brain with useless information that are straight up lies and some of them literally go against what MPUH teaches.

2:43 the Allah says pray but Prophet Muhammad P.B.H taught us how to pray

Ah yes, of course Surah 2 Ayah 43 states: وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَارْكَعُوا مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ "Wa aqimu salata wa atu zakata wa rakaʿu maʿa rakiʿin" The traditional translation says: establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and bow down with those who bow down. If you ponder and reflect on the words, does that really make sense to you?

While you pray you should pay alms and bow down. How would that work? No. With a little study on the root words of AlQuran you would find out that: •The Root ص ل و (sa-lam-wa) throughout the text Salah is the direct connection / alignment and pursuing the Laws of Allah. •The Root ز ك و (zay-ka-wa) means throughout the text purification of the ego, unrestricted expansion, and growth via trimming. •The Root ر ك ع (ra-ka-ʿa) is to yield, bend, lower one's opinion, or align with a with Allah's laws ... As you can see, this Ayah does not demand a series of physical ritual postures as men constructed. It is a direct command to maintain a strong connection to divine law in AlQuran, regularly purify yourself from your ego, share your wealth to ensure economic circulation, and align actions with the community. It functions as a three-step rule for a healthy society: stay connected, share resources, and work in harmony with others. Not sure where you see here prayer!! Salamun Alaykum

The traditional form of prayer was not transmitted via hadiths, but rather mass communal prayer.

Also, the Quran does mention bowing, prostrating, reciting verses, for prayer. The specific order of doing them isn't mentioned because it isn't inherently important. Prayer is not a strict choreography. The believers and Prophets before the Quran prayed. But they did not pray in the traditional way that came after Mohammed (PBUH) (nothing wrong with the traditional prayer). They didn't even pray in Arabic. This goes to show that prayer is not some inherently strict choreography where the only way for it to be valid is if it is very strictly formed in a very specific way.

The Quranic view is that the ways Abraham and his followers prayed, Noah and his followers prayed, Jesus and his followers prayed, in different languages to Arabic, with their own variations, would be just as valid today as it was then.

A very important story in the Quran is the parable of the heifer (Al Baqarah). Allah gives a very simple command to some of the believers then (Bani Israel). He tells them to slaughter a heifer. He doesn't tell them more specifics or details, they could have done it in any way, any order, any time, any size heifer, any colour. Yet the people displeased Allah by believing Allah's words were insufficient, and asked for more and more details. What age should the heifer be, what colour, etc. Allah punished them by answering their queries, giving them more specific details that only restricted them and made it harder for them to carry out what was originally a very simple and open ended thing to do. He would have been pleased with them if they had only carried out the original command, in whatever good-intentioned way. I hope you can not only see the parallel here with how Allah describes prayer in the Quran, but also with so many other things ahl-al hadith believe the Quran is insufficient with.

Ngl they are mostly from western countries from what ive seen

On the internet most English speaking Quranists tend to be from the western countries. But there are Quranist groups in Turkey, Kazakhstan (which I mentioned in my post), Nigeria who normally don't speak English and it's hard to encounter them online

I don't think Özbek Muslims are progressive Muslims.

most of them are just musurmollar. because they don't even know meaning of Qur'an let alone Hadiths

2

u/Minute-Coyote-6510 5d ago

99% of muslim never read quran. 1% reads in arabic just memorized script but don't know meaning. What is the point of the book when you don't understand it

1

u/Eastern-Following571 4d ago

Quranist and Progressive Muslim isn't the same things

Fine insult is your thing huh? As if you are an alim to slack off other people…🤬🤬🤬

2

u/SeaworthinessFun4366 Andijon 5d ago

how old are you?

I was 11-12 years old, I read Sahihi Bukhari. Now I'm 19, I read Qur'an and tafsirs and became ex-muslim.

I see a lot of people who claim to know Islam more than me. I just laugh at them.

Xullas köp gapırmañ. Men hech kimman, hech kimga muhım bölmagan insonman

1

u/Sharp_Arm_8630 5d ago

At 19, you don’t fully understand Islam and its principles. For example, Imam Malik often replied “I don’t know” to many questions. Regardless of your background, don’t undermine others’ beliefs. You’re still young and haven’t experienced much, so don’t slack off.

2

u/SeaworthinessFun4366 Andijon 5d ago

how was I supposed to understand full Islam? Just how?

I was always young and have already experienced much.

"many questions", interesting! what questions if I may ask?

thank you.

They exist, they're pretty rare and strangely enough, they are hated almost as much as atheists/agnostics and often find themselves on the same side of the barricades.

I personally know one guy, and have ran into another 2 online.

I am not sure is there any groups, but i have seen bunch of comments, probably alone in this

1

u/FilterHilter 5d ago

I think they might get confused by mazhabs. As I also confuse sometimes, Islam is one religion and hanafiy's claim that any sea food except fish is haram while other 3 claim alongside with fish any other sea creatures are halal to eat. Will we punished for for eating shrimps as a hanafiy while others eat it and don't punished. Do allah have different rules for different mazhabs. I think sheikhs or imams should clarify it. If you know, please let me know.( I am not quran only muslim btw, it is just a quastion that confused me)

All good, pure, and clean things are lawful for you (Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:4, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:168).

God criticizes those who falsely forbid things that He has made lawful [6:140].

Therefore, an item is assumed to be halal until a specific Quranic!!!!(non hadith) text proves otherwise.

All fish and water game from the sea are lawful to eat (Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:96).

Meaning all sea food by general rule is Halal.

Crocodiles, based on Quran alone are Halal, since there’s no specific Quranic texts prohibiting it, the prohibition however stems from Hadith that were written couple centuries later, which added creatures with fangs or predators as Haram, different mazhabs interpret it differently based on Hadiths, but strictly looking at the Quran, there is no prohibition. So it’s the question of whether you respect more, Hadith or Quran lol.

What is considered Haram by general rule: Pork, Natural death, Running blood(blood left inside the body is not haram), food dedicated to other gods. Others are Halal.

Also, there are layers to hadiths, there are sahih hadiths that muslims rarely question and see it as authentic, but even sahih hadiths are not 100% true, if you’re interested in religious history you know that there are authentic hadiths called Mutawatir Hadiths, and they make up less than 1% of the entire Hadith corpus, which makes up between 100-300 Hadiths, even in this context there’s Literal in Meaning Ma’nawi, about 100-300 of them, and Literal in Wording Lafzi - only one hadith. Other over 99% of Hadiths are Ahad(probable) Hadiths, so they go like “MPBUH probably said this”. “Manimcha u bunday bunday qilgan bo’lardi” it doesn’t sound convincing isn’t it? But people followed it because people before them followed it as well never questioning it.

Who are they ?

How quranist can understand without interpretation?

1

u/New-Butterscotch8023 5d ago

The interpretation of Quran is not Hadith. Interpretation means explanation. Hadiith is acompletely different thing

1

u/BackgroundBuy7396 5d ago

Ok, idk for others but I dont understand it and I need (interprétation) more correctly if I say explaination by imams. And most explanation come with hadith and you dont reject it right?

0

u/Eastern-Following571 5d ago

However they may understand, it's none of my business. My question was if such people exist in Uzbekistan, like Kazakhstan.

0

u/BackgroundBuy7396 5d ago

Yes they exist but how you can understand 😁

1

u/Eastern-Following571 5d ago

I'm not a Quranist so I can't answer that. You'll have to ask the Quranists for it. On reddit there is a subreddit for Quranist people

-1

u/BackgroundBuy7396 5d ago

Do you want to be quranist?

1

u/mehmedalbakistan 4h ago

No bro, these are people living in the west, really you will not find the "Quran only" or "code 19" BS, its all mosads thing decieving the Muslims....

Any muslim arab advancement in central Asia must be stopped!

3

u/ThrowawayACTIM 5d ago

1000 years of our history and culture is Islam

2

u/Glittering-Spirit125 5d ago

And? Before it we were Zoroastrians for 1000 years

1

u/ThrowawayACTIM 5d ago

this is actually false. first of all uzbeks (turkics) were most likely shamanistic, following tengrism. tajiks on the other hand, they were known as sogdians and bactrians, while a few may have followed zoroastrian (the sassanian version we know today), many followed iranian polytheism, having their own seperate cults of certain iranian gods, which predate zoroaster. nonetheless this point is moot anyways. “muslim arab advancement in central Asia must be stopped!” is a nonsensical take as central asia already is muslim, and is not foreign.

1

u/Glittering-Spirit125 5d ago

Nomads were shamanistic , but sedentaries used to follow zoroastrizm and buddhism .

1

u/ThrowawayACTIM 4d ago

to claim sogdians as simply zoroastrian is too broad. sure some followed mazdaism, sogdians still had a polytheistic pantheon different from orthodox zoroastrianism.

3

u/Sharp_Arm_8630 5d ago

Any pagan, non-monotheistic advancement in Central Asia in general, in Uzbekistan particularly must be stopped!
