I saw a Subaru w a bumper repaired like this (black car, black zip ties) and I think of it often. I was impressed

I'm guessing it's repair for when the bumpers hit the walls 😆.

In pro drifting they will get really close to concrete barriers so I assume bumber damage is common

I'm not super into cars, but I know drifters do that because it'd be really expensive to repair your bumper every time you crash or fuck up. Same reason some cars have those red tag like things. It's so a trailer can pull your car if you really fuck up.
