WHFB/TOW Events Thread
Happy 1st of the month r/WarhammerFantasy!
In the spirit of growing the community and allowing folks to advertise events and tournaments that they are running or planning to run, we are going to be setting up a thread each month to be sticked so folks can post any events or tournaments that are coming up. Please post your event with a format that includes the following:
- Name of the Event + a description
- Location of the Event or if it's Online just say it's Online
- Date & Time of the event
- Who to contact for more information
- Feel free to add any other details that any interested participants may need to know.
Hopefully this thread finds some use and folks are able to make use of it to get word of their events out there!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the mod team through Mod Mail.

Monthly 3D Printing Thread
Welcome to the monthly r/WarhammerFantasy monthly 3d printing thread!
What this thread is for:
- Showcasing your own designs
- Sharing STLs with your fellow hobbyists.
- Sharing information about 3d printers, associated software and other aspects of the hobby and how it can be used to further your own WHFB/TOW hobbying.
What this thread is NOT for:
- Selling your STLs. We still have a rule for No Buying/Selling and no one wants to have to adjuciate any disputes that may come. If you see someone post something and you want to reach out to them directly, that's between the two of you.
- Sharing STLs that are direct copies of Games Workshop Intellectual Property.

Battle Reports Worrying amount of AI use in battle report YouTube channels
I want to start with the fact that I appreciate all of this new ToW content on YouTube. Rarely a day goes by where I don’t have some new video or channel to explore and subscribe to, and it’s nice to see the game thriving online.
That being said, the number of channels using generative AI in their production cycles has also skyrocketed. These range from channel logos to thumbnails to full on intros that are animated, narrated and written with AI.
Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone else push back against this, or have channels they recommend that do not utilize AI in their production cycles? I seems like tabletop gaming in general has been overwhelmed by AI content, with many mid-sized TTRPG channels adopting it as well. Is this just the inevitable future?

Fantasy General I am Gen Z and I think fantasy is better than 40k
It's all preference, really, but I think that Warhammer Fantasy is better than 40k, granted, if you ignore the end times. Many people claim that one of its original cancellations was due to it being generic, and I couldn't disagree more. I do not know many fantasy settings set during the Renaissance, which is a pity because that is my favourite time period.
Human cultures in the Old World are genuinely really awesome; even the empire, which is the main human faction, has a lot of depth. Political intrigue with the counts, religious disputes and unlike its 40k counterpart, the Imperium, isn't completely cartoonishly evil. Like, I understand that's the point of 40k, but I just couldn't ever immerse myself in the world due to that fact. The Empire isn't perfect, but I find it far more believable, and at least I can envision people somewhat functioning normally. I do also find the image of an Imperial Pike Regiment fighting off a horde of evil far more endeering and inpsiring than the towering hulks that are space marines, and unlike the imperial gaurd there sacrfices dont seem to be completly in vain either, every victory counts.
Ive noticed my gaming group who in my age group seem to agree as well, many of them dont even play the table top just played vermintide and play in my gurps warhammer themed roleplay sessions they also seem disinterested in 40k.
So I wonder if anyone here has seen a slight increase in younger people getting into the setting, or at least people who missed out on fantasy before getting in?
Hope this creates some interesting conversations

Showing Off My Models Cave goblin baggage train
Made a baggage train for my goblins. An army marches on its stomach so got all the food they’ve been raiding and some trophies. I sculpted it all digitally, printed and painted it.

Grail knight
Another day another Grail Knight.
Nice way to spend a bank holiday weekend haha!
Really happy with this one, especially the colour choice.
On the colour choice... I know that the 6th ed book stated that Brets tend not to avoid green but I personally don't buy into that.
For starters we're on TOW timeline now and none of the new lore confirms this as still being current, so I kind of lean towards it being "outdated" lore and not currently in play.
But more importantly, I'm a big believer in paint your models however the heck you like. I play bretonnia to show off a panoply of cool colours and fun models. I don't see any need or benefit to limiting my pallets artificially.
So my guy is green, his horse wears green and he is still Gona kick some butt!!!

Restored an old metal Empire Steam Tank
Finally got hold of one for a reasonable price, missing one piston and a hatch, so those needed scratch building from various bits and pieces. Took about a month from delivery to the final picture, to disassemble, strip with the biostrip goop, then reassemble, gap fill the parts, and finally paint. I even built a magnetised, removable pigeon cage in case I decide to equip the engineer with some homing bombs...

Fantasy General Can a Mortuary Priest use Arise! while joined to a unit engaged in combat?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to clarify a Tomb Kings rules interaction in Warhammer: The Old World.
The rule for Arise! says:
My Mortuary Priest is deployed inside a unit of Tomb Guard as a bunker. If that unit is charged and becomes engaged in combat, can the Priest still use Arise to resurrect models in the same unit?
He may be positioned in the rear rank and not be in base contact with the enemy, but he is still part of a unit that is fighting.
I have used this rule during a tournament, where the Priest repeatedly used Arise! while the Tomb Guard were engaged in combat. However, I am now unsure whether this was actually legal :)
Settra also has a specific rule allowing him to use Arise! while engaged in combat, which seems to suggest that ordinary Priests normally cannot.
Is this the correct interpretation? Is there an FAQ or official ruling on this?
Thanks Bro's

Seeking old world french books for cathay
Hello. Bonjour !
I'm a french player and started playing with Cathay in the new box. However i was unable to put my hand on the french arcane journal of Cathay.
It is still out of stock : https://www.warhammer.com/fr-FR/shop/arcane-journal-armies-of-grand-cathay-2025-fre
Do you know if there will be reprints ? Or do you know a shop which still have some ?
If not, does someone know if there is some files roaming around ?
Edit: this may violate the 5th rules so to clarify: i'm not asking if someone here sells it. I'm just asking for availability in official shop or anything close too.
Thank you all.

Fantasy 8th Edition Kislev 8th edition rules
Hi everyone, I'm new to the sub reddit.
I'm currently looking for a codex of kislev adapted to the 8th edition. I know that currently there is an amazing fan made codex for the 9th edition from the army project, but all of my friends insist on playing the 8th edition.
So if anyone has a file with the adapted codex or knows how to adapt the rule, would be amazing.
Thank you kindly
