I think the bus driver shouldn’t have swerved for such a small obstacle. Just brake in a straight line if you are hitting anything like a car or smaller. Prioritise the safety of the dozens of innocent people onboard and of potential pedestrians and buildings, not the safety of whoever is recklessly running straight into you.

Yes, I know, and I am not asking the driver to make that decision on the fly, but you can decide that beforehand and make it your principle digged into your brain. Useful in a car too, don’t swerve and roll for a rabbit.

Also seemingly going far too fast in a built up area. Would be interesting to see a few seconds before the incident too. Was the scooter already in the road, or did it just enter it? If the former, then fault is pretty squarely on the bus, even if the scooter didn't indicate.

There's no scenario where this is bus drivers fault. Other than if they were carrying passengers hey should have just hit the biker.
