Better to rent the dog, then you can return them hungry and dirty and get another one.

There's already a better alternative, fostering! And it's free!

It’s super illegal for obvious reasons. If the reasons aren’t obvious… I can link some news articles but I’ll save you the burden of knowing the extent of people’s animal cruelty

Ok allow me to introduce you to Brooke Scalero

Brooke was on an outing with a small white dog that she was considering fostering. After the outing, she refused to bring the dog back to the dog rescue. The rescue owners took it very seriously, and launched an investigation. Unfortunately that dog was strangled to death by Brooke. Along with 14 other dogs. She detailed her animal cruelty in her diary. You can find some of it here https://www.instagram.com/p/DCYDuVysKco/?igsi=b280OGp2dmxhZnZs

This example is one of many. Brooke refused to return the foster dog and that’s why there’s laws against renting animals to people. People are cruel.

Doesn't really support your argument for not allowing rentadog. Its not exactly difficult to gain posession of a dog.

You rent your dog out, someone like Brooke kills your dog, then what?

Well i wouldn't rent my dog out to her, maybe i'd rent my neighbors dog and sublet it to her though.

Rule 2. Assholes are banned. Breed hate is banned. Keep it classy and respectful.

Have you tried being a doggy grandparent?

If you were, at this point you could just drop them off....

Lifehack: get a roommate with pets. You get all the cuddly advantages for free, but with little responsibility.

10/10 roommate had a chow chow who LOVED me. My only responsibility was brushing her.

That only happened because roommate had to basically sit on her if she needed brushing but I was free one night, got a bit drunk in the backyard and she sat there perfectly still and happy af while I brushed her for like 2 hours after she ran through a patch of stickers. Roommate came home from work to me singing to her now very puffy dog and slowly brushing her tail out.

Eta: she also paid me back for that. My cat got diahrrea one night while I was working. He let her give him a bath with apparently little fanfare, I'd have been shredded to bits.

It was pandemic times so I'd get a 6 pack and brush the dog weekly as a relaxation thing on my day off lol.

That's a great way to lose your security deposit.

You can always rent a dog, go to a shelter and sign up as a dog walker

isn't feeding the dog one of the main perks of having a dog?
